I have to get used to how both beds are low-slung (about 8" off the floor) but it doesn't make it uncomfortable, surprisingly - and it gives less room for things to break (not that I expect the thick timber legs to break compared to thin metal...)

Second bed frame arrived and set up yesterday.
This is probably a "well duh Spi" moment, but it's hecking difficult to exaggerate how much having my larger (Queen size) bed back in full action is going to help out with my mood at home...
Not going to get AU$170 shoes at full whack to replace $25 ones, but if I can get the former for ~80 bucks, I'm not going to complain ๐
The one grumble with looking for decent shoes at a clear-out outlet is that I kinda have to deal that there *won't* be a US size 13 in a lot of things
Ended up with a pair with almost a taupe colour, which feels odd
...until I realise I'm wearing a brown T-shirt, yeah, this could work ๐ซช
... I can deal with 4am, it's better than 2am
At a freebie night out (one of the last I'll absolutely *need* after the next few days) and for once realising "hey I really should chromecast Kayo or something" rather than feel miserable about said 4am
Again, progress...
And then we put the chee in the shell :3 (oh wait you're already leaning towards that, didn't you say)
(the actual number for much of the last week is probably in the 12,5 to 15 kilo-step range which is obviously quite a bit)
The fun thing about reflux and how to help it at night, is that sleeping on my left side (which is usually recommended) is already my *least* comfortable and natural position ๐ซ
Any tossing and turning is usually between back and right side, neither of which help much ๐
It's hard to get a read of all my steps right now, only counting them with phone in pocket
It's a lot easier to trust the soles of my feet and my lower legs, for whom the official count is "ow ow ow ow ow Spi fuck off" ๐ซ
that's beyond one of them still healing up of course. Sane choices, Spi ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Besides, Spi, for the thousandth time, you can't mind read those who say nothing
Some may well hate it; others may wish they could be bold enough for it, or be able to get away with it... I know I fell into the latter category/ies myself
My parents would be absolutely horrified if they saw me going out in public with coloured hair
Not so much the queerness implications, but just that of safety
Which is... fair, I'll concede, if exaggerated
People will stop and stare, they already do that when I wear the boots...
Male actors are allowed makeup and special effects too. โจ
(and then I think the Oilers would have finished top in IIHF terms on head-to-head, 3 games to 1, and also on the NHL one of regulation-only wins)
Shows the benefit of hanging in there for that point, something that the 43-win, third-placed Ducks didn't do a lot of ๐ค
I'm used to teams in one baseball division finishing top with a losing record, but when you then have a winning record team coming third...
And yet, even if they did go to a 3-2-1-0 system, all that'd change in the top three is that VGK (39-43) and the Oilers (41-41) would finish level on points
I know the NHL ๐ points system is pretty much set in stone, but I do wonder whether there are some folks who wish they'd go to 3 for a regular-time win, 2 for an OT win, like IIHF play
Although they all made the playoffs, I can't look at the Pacific division's result with much of a straight face
*puts out some non-lethal but hypnotic bait so you can come over for a snug in that rattata "suit"*
The vending machine
Trends in cricket, when the term "maximum" for referring to a six in twenty20 cricket seems to have been put to bed, replaced with the term "super six" (as I heard in one place other than the IPL)
I mean, half the names these days are so they can be sponsored, so ๐คทโโ
In public chats it was more "I look like an alien" but I could tell what was really going on inside
I quite liked the look but there was also a bit of "this is unprofessional and shameful" stirring around ๐ซ
So I bought some temporary hair colour (incl. a turquoise close to Spi's colour) and more stuff to conceal my crap skin
It looks okay, but gosh did it ever bring out my own self-hate about my queerness. If you're saying "you look like an ugly dyke stereotype" Spi, you need some self-care
(in order: bed frame two, dinner table, pay, hecking NOTHING, short break away)
A lot of this, of course, came about because of a frustrating feeling of excess energy and probably a need for dopamine
I can assure you that right now, that heavy excess generally isn't there anymore, and as much as it feels weird, that in itself is a positive sign
YES, one hundred percent! ๐
Thursday, eh, it can wait, nothing expected then ๐
Monday can't come soon enough.
Then Tuesday can't come soon enough.
Then Wednesday can't come soon enough.
Then Friday (and the long weekend) can't come soon enough.
...it's *that* kind of week ahead. Ugh ๐ซ
Yeah, I bet.
And yet it also probably was worth every ache and pain you now have ๐
Old FE spot in much smaller times, I'm guessing?
One indigenous artwork that used to be in Macarthur Square had the artist identify themselves as a "saltwater Yuin" person (Yuin country is more-or-less the NSW south coast beyond Nowra-ish) and it's interesting how one becomes identified by the land with the "saltwater" (ie. coastal) adjective.
And perhaps beyond my own, in Dharawal country (though not realising that it extends to Wollongong and much of the Shoalhaven) and knowing Dharug for western Sydney and beyond, but "country/peoples" names like Awabakal for the Newcastle area, Gundungarra for the southern highlands, etc.
