I mean, it starring Jared Leto was a big red flag right off the bat. I hate that Legacy wasn't a bigger success. Now, it seems like they're just making a fan service film based on a mix of edgy teen stereotypes from the last 25 years. You're right. It's hard to feel optimistic about this. lol

Remembering Fred Hampton born Aug. 30, 1948, assassinated Dec. 4, 1969 by Chicago police and the FBI

I remember dealing with this during gamergate. It sucks that we're rehashing this with *sigh* our federal government...

Another great (actually awful) aspect of the right being products of 4chan and qanon is that they use obscure memes and hide 1488 references in social media releases and if you try to explain that everyone looks at you like a crazy person because "no normal person would use hidden code like this"

I'm going live on Twitch at 6pm CST to start my first playthrough of Hollow Knight. As much as everyone hypes it up, I figured it was time to give it a shot. See y'all there!

Dear Jerry Jones,

No one believes you aren't the problem in the Micah Parsons contract negotiations.

I'm not right-wing. In advocating for left wing policies. What are you even talking about? 😂

Which is evident in phrases like "Not greater rights, not lesser rights, but equal rights." It's this assumption that trans people were asking for more than that in their lives. When the reality is that they're being used as a scapegoat.

They're allowing the fear to win by giving in to these disingenuous talking points and trying to appease people who have these unfounded fears of trans people and what trans people want in terms of equal rights.

What I'm talking about is this capitulation to the more extreme ideas put out by transphobes regarding competition in sports, use of bathrooms, and generally giving trans people truly equal rights as somehow being a step too far.

All you have to do to get this man on your side is blow smoke up his ass. 😂

Personally, what I want is true opposition to Trump and his unique brand of fascism. I want leaders like Mamdani who are willing to challenge the outdated assumptions about progressive economic and social policies, instead of cowering away from them the moment someone calls us socialist.

People are tired of being misled. People are tired of the focus group tested, soundbite marketable, sanitized political rhetoric that plays to a perceived center that doesn't actually exist for most of the American electorate.

I don't believe that people actually agree with the far-right politics that have dominated discourse, but rather that people are tired of politicians who pay lip service to progressive policy and then abandon it once they get into office.

We've been in the trickle-down era since then, even if we saw sprinkles of progressive policies in new legislation under Democratic admins over the decades. But the economic and social policy was still largely market centered and top down. Culminating in the gloves-off oligarchical fascism of today.

Mamdani and AOC may be from a progressive bastion, but I also believe that more people than these corpo Dems think are open to a new progressive era. The progressive era didn't end in 2024. The progressive era ended when Reagan was elected.

This is exactly the right take. Personally, this continued attempt to curry favor with moderate Republicans by throwing trans people under the bus has made me disillusioned with any candidate that isn't explicitly progressive or democratic socialist.

No. 2 House Democrat Katherine Clark calls Gaza war a "genocide" Clark is one of just over a dozen House members who have used the word to describe the conflict in Gaza.

Proud of the members of my synagogue that are part of the group that pushed Katherine Clark to finally do this. The next step is to get her to act on this understanding.

Refusing to name the Final Solution in Gaza The ancestors demand justice for the living.

Also, from yesterday:

"What matters more than your aversion to calling Israel’s actions “genocide” is the fact that a genocide is happening. Stop verbalizing your moral impulses out of existence by hemming and hawing about whether a genocide is a genocide."

A friend from Virgina was telling me about how there was this huge thunder clap that woke him up at like 2am a few days ago. We live right up the street from each other. I slept straight through it. Didn't even realize it stormed that night. 😂

I'm from Texas and it's customary to sleep through thunderstorms. Hell, it's soothing for most of us. lol

Don’t get comfortable, try not to be scared. Stay angry, folks. These idiots will overplay their hand and get themselves in a jam; in the meantime, settle in for the long fight

We ain’t beat yet

In a nation made supposedly of laws, we have gambled on the discretion of men to keep the use of crisis authority in check. With Trump, we played a bad hand. Rather than treat emergency powers as a dangerous tool to be wielded with care and caution, this president has used them with reckless abandon as a toy — a means through which he can live his fantasies of strength, domination and authoritarian control.
