I was just reading the part of Great Expectations the other day where Pip dilutes his sister's rum with tar water!
Surely it's not appropriate for a civil servant to be opining abroad on the 'maturity' of Irish views on neutrality. The same people who go into a rage when Catherine Connolly, elected on a clear platform, defends international law, strangely silent about this.

couldn't agree more with your cypriot friend, frankly
Bizarre to think that sick kids would get any bit of comfort from actual machines rather than humans giving them their dinner in an already, for kids, strange environment like a hospital. This strange idea is nevertheless unsurprising given the sociopathic tendencies of our governing parties.

I wrote about the turnaround on SNA cuts and how the whole thing shows a lack of understanding about how precarious things are for many families of people with additional needs. It's also a reminder that they need to be ready to fight & protest at all times just to maintain the inadequate status quo
The financial hit to Israel each year would be less than the cost of the infamous Leinster House bike shed. #Spéirgorm

Sure, I think Lauren Berlant is always a good place to start with this. Any of their books from The Queen of America Goes to Washington City. Or, in a more specifically literary sphere, Rachel Greenwald Smith's 2015 book.
Just saw a student wearing a barbour jacket and a mullet and don't know what to think

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
Excellent! Would love to have you

srael is no longer seeking approval for issuing bonds through Ireland's Central Bank.
Despite the pathetic Irish Government refusing to formally stop authorising Israeli bonds, the concerted pressure of a popular campaign here led to this outcome.
