Yeah tbh don't hate how it sounds but get what you're saying. Kinda like the unique vibe it gives it. Agree on your points about Marlon and Brownie. They seem to mesh well together. Just really impressed with how tight Marlon has become in a short amount of time. Real practice is clearly helping lol

Also minor thing unrelated to how they're actually playing, but the boards sound very clean...gives it a unique sound. Created some studio quality moments during these west coast shows.

Might feel the bare minimum but doesn't seem like they're practicing in front of a live crowd anymore. Much tighter than they've been in a long time, Barber and especially Magner both sound more engaged. Marlon is clearly more comfortable now, which is allowing them to explore more.

Been a while and idk who's been keeping track lately but the Biscuits may have pulled off one of the more impressive turnarounds I've seen with this Cali run. Even as the biggest Allen guy there's ever been, Marlon's evolution is real and they're hitting levels of creativity not witnessed in years.

once went to Lotus at Red Rocks in May in the snow. Fun for like 15-20 minutes then bought the socks they were selling at merch to use as mittens lol.

Entire new album is kinda a banger. Different from his past stuff, more electronic influenced. Got mixed reviews from the Tame Impala purists but I think it's fun.

Lol all these NBA Cup floors are absolutely awful.

I was there...some choppy moments for sure but I guess I just didn't think it was nearly as bad as some other people. Atp I think there is always going to be a contingent of Biscuits fans who aren't going to accept the change, and it's likely they'll always be the most vocal about it lol.

I'll be there! Kinda nervous about it...feels like the type of game the Bucs usually roll over on, but hopefully not. Both teams coming into it with some issues on both sides of the ball, so it really could be anyone's game.

Lol fair. I could probably do the same with some 1.0 songs but I will refrain.

hitting the 2 night Buffalo run again at the end of the month. Will be looking forward to your live show review, for sure. Obviously have some mixed emotions about all of it, but I'm trying to go into this new era with an open mind lol.

like if they have him just try to replicate what Allen did, they will never sound as good again lol. Just facts, Allen is a machine who rarely misses a beat. They're going to have to adapt, maybe bring back some of the gritty early 2000s sound. Can't just try to be Allen 2.0 and expect it to work.

I'm at a crossroads with this bc I actually want a different drummer to sound different, but I love Allen's untz so much that it's tough to imagine the Biscuits any other way. I actually think my biggest gripe so far is when Marlon tries to play TOO MUCH like Allen, because that's just not possible.

I thought it was better than expected for a 2nd show, tbh. Jarring hearing any deviation from perfection though lol Allen was a human drum machine back there. But I enjoy Marlon's use of fills and he does bring a little more creativity to the kit. Composed sections should improve over time.

How the new songs hit live? Saw some review of the new album that claimed it didn't make them excited to see anything on it in concert...and I felt the exact opposite?

Barber absolutely nuking all the good will the band has built over the past 5 years is very on brand.

Barber, not Brownie.

I'll go with defenses bad more than offenses good but idk, Flacco is kinda dealing? This is maybe the first time Chase has looked like Chase since Burrow went down.

Also figured it was a New Years run with Sugar Plum Fairies. Will admit I looked through the New Years shows from 2018 and 2019 to find it, though lol.

12/28/2018

definitely was thinking 2018 or 2019 when I saw that 37 minute 7-11, which I assume has a long TBeam jam in it.

Bucs belong in the Super Bowl aspirations tier next to the Seahawks (beat them) and could probably replace either Washington or the Chargers. Especially considering the injuries the Bucs are currently dealing with, the team is only going to get better down the stretch as they get healthier.

whatever song they're playing around the 30 min mark definitely sold me. Good stuff. Fun to see pieces of different bands joining together to make something completely different.

Space Bacon is doing some very fun things. Been finding myself putting them on more and more lately.
