I don’t necessarily agree they need to have premier league experience. Managers like Iraola & Glasner had no PL experience but have been fantastic. Bournemouth in particular didn’t have an amazing squad for Iraola to inherit mid season either

I’m not sure what I’ve made up there. Obviously it’s not black & white but when the overwhelming evidence on the pitch is that a change needs to be made & the entire stand is chanting for it then it’s easy to justify my pov. BA brings benefits in some situations, yday was categorically not one

I think you’re maybe being a bit harsh on the owners at this stage. I’m frustrated with the in-game management but I think the club has been run well since they took over after relegation. Recruitment has been good, would’ve like a 10 in the summer but that’s probably the only issue I have with them

Wow what a take. I get it, you like Brenden for some reason so you’re going to defend him. But surely you could see the game yday (like most) required someone else on the wing? Even you think BA is crucial 🤷‍♂️ , why couldn’t we make an earlier change and put him 10, James on the wing and go 4231?

Overall we’ve competed better than I thought this season (Arsenal, Brighton, Forest aside). But we’re always going to get battered in some games as that’s the nature of being a bottom side. The real kicker is how we’ve fumbled big moments in games we’ve been on top, I think yday was the final straw

Fulham & Burnley were massive missed opportunities as neither were up to much on the day and we won’t get chances like that away often. The missed points at home have me tearing my hair out as in most instances we’ve dropped points in the last 20-30 mins from poor management. Needs a change asap

You’re right when Maatsen came on he pushed on further than Digne and that’s the moment we need to exploit the space. The game was there to be won. We had numerous breaks with the ball in midfield and BA as a wide option but he wasn’t able to get forward fast enough so we had no outlet and lost it

I don’t think it does have to be an elite level coach at all. We don’t need a huge number of points to stay up but to get those we need more tactical flexibility in-game. The squad has enough quality to get 7-8 more wins, however we would fall well short of that with Farke

That’s not true, the squad has good players in it and much better quality than the last time we were in the prem. The fact we’ve done well in lots of games and not won is more reflective of the game management rather than the player quality given how we’ve sacrificed leads in multiple matches

That wasn’t what we needed yesterday though, we had acres of space behind their full backs, especially in the second half. It needed James to come on about 20 mins before he did - the Kop were even chanting ‘make a sub’ but Farke is completely deaf to it. Leaving Brenden on was criminal

Yes Dallas said he was good at dribbling out of tight spaces, I agree. Problem is once he dribbles out of a tight space then he’s almost useless. Appreciate the work and effort he puts in but James does the same and offers us the attacking outlet we were crying out for yesterday

You’ve summed it up perfectly ‘Farke allowed the second half too meander’. This is the exact reason he needs to go. He did a brilliant job getting us promoted but the job is different now and he can’t seem to take advantage of situations we should win

They were. He even made a point of saying that last week in his press conference

4 months ago 0 0 2 0

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I think the squad is better than its league position and Farke is completely underutilising it eg starting Brenden Aaronson every week who was one of our weaker players in the championship. Gnonto, James etc fit and on the bench yesterday and are 10x the player

We got 1 point from these three but anyone with half a brain could’ve made the necessary changes to deliver 5+ given the game state in each

It’s more that Farke’s in-game management is appalling. Our home games against Bournemouth, Spurs and Villa were tough on paper but we got ourselves into a great position in each (leading two, drawing the other in the second half) and he’s completely incapable of changing it up to deliver points.

@berencross.bsky.social any word on Farke? Are the club able to provide any explanation as to why they think he can still keep us up? Certainly no evidence on the pitch

What time is the announcement regarding Farke? Must be today surely

What a response. Great performance and a huge 3 points.

Gives us a bit of breathing room before 2 tough home fixtures. Anything from those before the next break would be very welcome.

It’s honestly mad how some schools operate. Internal tests are much more effective and worthwhile exercises to assess students progress without any prior notice. Also don’t need to make a big event out of them, just slip a few into the schedule every now and then and make them seem routine

This is so Jesse Marsch 😂

When will Arsenal fans get tired of Artetas gimmicks and failing to win trophies? What’s that, 1 FA Cup in his 6 seasons which came 6 months after he joined?

I don’t think anything major needs to change, we’ve been very competitive in all games barring Arsenal and I think the midfield has looked strong. The more DCL/Okafor play the better they will become (hopefully 😂)

Gutted with the last min OG on Saturday. Would’ve been a great away point.

Next week is an important one against Wolves, undeniably one of the biggest chances we’ll get for 3 points away from home.

I don’t mind the defence first approach but we need to start our best forwards (i.e. Gnonto).

They do it every game, it’s some sort of long running inside joke

Big stretch of games coming up. Arguably our best run of 8 games of the season between now and the Nov break.

We need to have racked up some decent points by the end of that Forest game or it could be a prime time to change coach.

Hopefully Farke can do it but Nuno is available if not…

In England or is he looking to move further afield?

I think 433 is more than likely, we’ve used it in the first three games and haven’t got a natural 10 to revert back to last years 4232. I quite like the idea of it with a more physical 9 (Nmecha/DCL). Just can’t play Piroe there in that system for obvious reasons.

Hmm ok gonna leave this here. Getting dangerously close to conspiracy territory here which clearly is not the case. Enjoy the season, should be challenging and entertaining as always.

7 months ago 0 0 1 0

Cool, we see it very differently in that case. Try to look at the positives pal, there’s plenty despite the obvious frustration 👍

7 months ago 0 0 1 0

Spot on, we’ve taken a couple of risks with fitness and I hope it doesn’t cost us. Talk of a disgraceful window from the owners is completely misplaced though.

I’m concerned we’ve left ourselves short in attack but we still have quality players & it’s up to Farke & the squad to find solutions now.
