yeah, it is, but I refuse to compound their error. Especially when they threw that in after about fifteen questions asking about our DEI policies where it was obvious that they wanted us to answer that we have them and follow them - so this felt like quite a tone shift.

customer questionnaire: "What procedures exist to remediate conflicts of interest and make sure 'Chinese walls' are maintained?"
me: I think I know what that is from context, but I gotta look it up, but I wish I didn't have to, because I'll bet it's racist... why is this in official customer Qs?

Hurray. It only took like 20 days
youtu.be/Ix8Oc2lVF_8?... Things are getting rough for Chelseaโs anxiety and Boots has noticed. What could make things worse? How about toxic siblings? Enter @maladaptday.bsky.social and @escapedaudios.bsky.social as Val and Mickey. And as always: praise to @palilious.bsky.social the original muse
Because not only would my dad not know about anything about networking if it bit him on the ass, neither would my useless goddamn ex-husband so, dad level networking? Eat my entire goddamn ass.
I was just searching some information on home networking and the fucking GPT result said that it was going to distinguish in its answers to me between basic stuff and "dad level networking" and I am actually pretty explosively angry about the level of sexism in that statement

Ahahaha all you gatekeepers can get wrecked. Iโm a real kid now!

articles that write about how "important" immigrant workers are to "the economy" without ever acknowledging that the reason they are important is that they can be treated worse for less pay
I still have my box set of VHS pre-THX :)
What movie did you watch over and over again as a kid?
Well, this was the first VHS we had and when we got the VCR when I was 12... we kinda wore it out. I still basically have it memorized. No regrets.
And I hate this kind of thing. It is not that I am advocating for rural people being more important or better than anyone who lives in a more populated area. No. It is that I strongly dislike the idea that anyone isn't important. That any type of person doesn't matter.
Yes, it's also because the land is cheap, but honestly a lot of it is that "nobody cares" about these areas and rural people have historically been quite easy to stomp all over (for example, read the history of LITERALLY ANY CHEMICAL COMPANY AND HOW IT GETS RID OF WASTE).
I was just having a conversation about this the other day - whatever your opinions on large data centers and their environmental effects, we can all agree that one of the chief reasons these companies pick rural areas is the idea that these areas don't matter. kentuckylantern.com/2026/03/30/s...
principal skinner meme. he muses to himself, "they said my document is in the documents section on the website. is it possible I do not understand these simple instructions?" he then decides, "No. They have clearly set the site up incorrectly. The document is not there, nor is there a documents section, and it is up to me, a non-website person, to teach them how to website."

Indiaโs tech sector has long been seen as a ladder to the middle class. But for many workers, the reality looks very different: long hours, intense pressure, and a growing mental health crisis.
so you know how when you get a driver's license, they test you and then there is an issue date, and the understanding that it's still good after the issue date?
People do not get that about the SOC 2 Type II. "YOUR SOC 2 IS EXPIRED ON YOUR SITE UPDATE IT"
NO IT'S NOT, GENIUS.
I mean, Iโll figure something out, but I shouldnโt have to. ๐ซ
And the bank says there is nothing they can do and the people I was paying who fucked up the actual charge amount say that I might be able to get the money back in 30 days.
That feeling when both the people youโre paying and your bank royally fuck up and manage to overdraw you by $14,000. I didnโt even think it was possible to be overdrawn by $14,000, but here we are.
Awwww
Thatโs a corollary to the Law of Unintended Consequences
Some smart attorney can definitely point to this as akin to a bill of attainder, or maybe a violation of equal protection.
Goes without saying: Zuck can eat my entire ass.
Predictable but still pathetic: death threats on Instagram still are not against Metaโs community standards.
Damn it, what were they thinking when the architects were designing that part of the planet?!
