During my hour and a half tattoo session today I managed to recommend the extended Oz books (highlighting Ozma as my sapphic trans fave), WicDiv, and a nonfiction queer history book. So, you know, I continue to be myself.

The only way I see that the Paralympics are happening is ppl posting stuff like “wow I don’t have any excuse for not running a marathon” and GENUINELY can you all cut that shit out. These are athletes who have trained their whole lives! You wouldn’t be able to to it just because you’re abled!!

Listening to a nonfiction book about trans athletes and the reader has chosen to adjust their voice performance to demonstrate the gender of people who are quoted. I don’t know that it’s a “wrong” choice per se, but it’s unusual in nonfiction audio and a little distracting.

Historically Persephone has popped up in my media consumption at times when I’m going through significant personal change. It’s a little disconcerting that she hasn’t now, but I guess falling headfirst into sports fandom doesn’t really lend itself to guest appearances by chthonic nature deities.
