I’m trying to square their shadow docket call on Mirabelli with their denying cert on Foote, and it doesn’t seem to make any sense. Now maybe that is just the answer with the Roberts Court, but, I thought I’d ask you. Again, you may not have time!
Ongoingly appreciate your following these.

Foote v. Ludlow School Committee, No. 23-1069 (1st Cir. 2025) The case involves parents (the "Parents") of a student at Baird Middle School in Ludlow, Massachusetts, who challenged the school's protocol regarding the use of a student's requested name and gender ...

Denying cert, though, means the district won; the First Circuit found for the Ludlow schools last year (super writing in the decision, BTW: law.justia.com/cases/federa...)

@chrisgeidner.bsky.social I know you don’t need more to do, but this question is in line with cases you follow: Foote v Ludlow was denied cert Monday. It’s a case from Massachusetts, somewhat similar to Mirabelli, save that the district was following state guidance, not a law.

I firmly believe presidents & people with control over medical agencies should understand percentages!

If *you* don’t, no judgment; I will explain in the next couple posts how they work. The short version is that Senator Warren is correct in the clip, and there’s NO interpretation in which RFKJr is

Tennessee lawmakers to consider major last-minute changes to voucher program in state’s largest counties Last year, lawmakers were assured the state’s universal voucher program was tightly controlled and wouldn’t expand too quickly. Now, Republicans are pushing to quickly add thousands of students.

This is quite insane. After a long debate that ultimately (nearly) doubled the number of private school vouchers statewide in TN to 35,000, the Assembly is now proposing *unlimited" vouchers in a separate program in all of the urban counties in TN (1/n) www.chalkbeat.org/tennessee/20...

Today our colleagues are facing abuse and harassment from the far-right figures emboldened by this attack. But we will not be deterred, we will not be intimidated, and we will continue to name racism, sexism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, and all hate for the blight that it is.

Ben Franklin, on why you should get your kids vaccinated:

“In 1736 I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by the small-pox, taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly, and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation.

Building 19 used cheap jokes to sell cheap crap. These two guys think it was art. - The Boston Globe Building 19? Well, it was a store that sold things. There's a word to describe those things, but we can’t print it here. Let’s just say it rhymes with wit, which is how they sold it.

Wonderful article about Building 19 in today's Boston Globe – going to have to track down that self-published art book! (Gift link) www.bostonglobe.com/2026/04/17/m...

Jay Bhattacharya has ordered that a paper showing the effectiveness of COVID19 vaccines in preventing severe disease and hospitalization be suppressed and hidden.

This man has been crying nonstop about political censorship for 6 years.

But he’s the one who is actually doing it.
