Mason was super excited this morning. It will be unbearable for a few days, as if no other incumbent government has ever lost a lot of council seats.

There's been a few councillor defections and Musk has transferred his allegiance to them. Reform obviously not being foul enough. If it further dilutes Reform's support and yields little in the way of wins for either party, I will be glad for that.

Wait a minute, is this the same Richard Tice who repeatedly called for Angela Rayner to resign over her dubious tax shenanigans? Surely not, because that would make him look like a hypocritical wanker. Oh.

This reminds me of a horror story I read about 2 rival cinema owners who offered more and more outrageous 'experiences' to attract bigger audiences. It ended with people queuing for the 'ultimate' experience - as Reform and Restore attempt to out-racist each other, hopefully both parties will die.

Ed Miliband to double down on net zero with measures to combat Iran energy shock As fossil fuel prices soar ‘the era of clean energy security must come of age’, energy secretary will say

There is no politician - and I mean none - who is better-placed than Ed Miliband to get us through this fossil fuel-driven energy crisis.

No-one in politics understands the energy system better. That’s why the billionaire fossil press hate him

In case you’re confused - the £100k of tax Richard Tice failed to pay here is totally different to the
- £92k of tax not properly withheld on dividends
- the £600k side-stepped via highly aggressive tax avoidance

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

Boris Johnson failed vetting, yet Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary.

Dominic Cummings was never vetted, yet had free access to Government and Number 10.

The vetting process is self evidently farcical.

Tice ‘happy to put things right’ after ‘he failed to pay £100k in corporation tax’ Mr Tice said last year Angela Rayner would resign if she had “any moral decency” after admitting to underpaying stamp duty

Richard Tice deputy leader of Reform ran four shell companies which did not pay any tax on profits between 2020 and 2022.

He's now offering to "put things right".

Go on then Richard - resign.

Reform dragged into tax row by Richard Tice’s unpaid £100,000 The party’s deputy leader says he will ‘pay what is owed if numbers need rechecking’ after more revelations from The Sunday Times

In short Rayner had to resign due to concerted media & political pressure over a single stamp duty mistake. Millionaire Tice bankrolled his party through deliberate, dodgy, tax-avoiding corporate tricks and yet the media pressure is limited to a few outlets.

He should 'put things right' by resigning. It's what he and Farage would be demanding of any high profile MP of any other party.

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost £100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.

First time Reform's deputy leader's tax affairs can be directly linked to finances of Nigel Farage's party.

Yesterday we had a journalist post on Threads to say the press doesn't like Labour and holds Labour to higher standards than other parties.

It confirms what we all knew and see every day.

But shocking that someone in the media bubble actually said it out loud!

What should have happened: the REIT paid no tax but the Tice companies holding shares in the REIT paid £98k tax on the dividends they received.

What actually happened: none of the companies paid any tax.

Sunday Times headline from March: Reform's Richard Tice avoided nearly £600k in tax

Despite receiving dividends, the companies paid zero tax in 2019, 2020 and 2021 for reasons that Tice said related to wider losses suffered by the groups. Although no such information appears in their accounts, he said: “The accountants advise on this and sign the audit and they are top drawer so I trust them.”

Richard Tice had a different explanation for why no tax was paid when he spoke to the Sunday Times last month.

Tice's statements here are all incorrect.

I feel like i've posted far too much about my sadness in losing my Dad. It's hit way harder than I imagined but in tribute to him, he vehemently hated Trump, the far right and war (he was a child soldier in WW2) so I will keep fighting the good fight for him as well xx

As a community nurse who was redeployed during the pandemic, conspiracy theorists make me sick. I lost colleagues and patients and almost my mum who miraculously survived it. To dismiss it as a staged event and to further spread anti-vaxx nonsense is not only insulting, it's really dangerous.
