Everytime there is a mass shooting, this image comes to mind. People in some of the highest positions of power in our country wearing gun pins. People who claim to be “pro life” and want to “protect the children.” People who claim to follow Jesus. This is idolatry of guns.

Apparently CPAC has endorsed the MyPillow guy for the #Minnesota gubernatorial race.
And I think my brain broke. I don’t know why it took so long. But that was it. To quote Queen, “I’m going slightly mad.”
I do want to say that women online get soooooooo much worse than out of context greetings. Yikes.
I have a serious pet peeve about people sliding into my #DMs with nothing but a greeting. “Hi, how are you?” “Hello, Robert.”
Is it overly cranky of me to never respond to messages like that? Like give me some kind of context.

I’m beginning to think maybe we need to stop giving government jobs to people who think it can only be a problem.
We may not be in the darkest timeline, but I’m starting to suspect we’re in the running for most ridiculous.
France starts moving government systems from Windows to Linux
France is ditching US software for homegrown alternatives of Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Telegram
Libre Office is very good.

This session explores accessibility as a living practice across the lifecycle of open source projects, including insights from WCAG 2.2, WCAG 3, and the European Accessibility Act. Learn how to keep accessibility from fading after launch and build workflows that sustain progress.

Sending comforting vibes your way. Cancer sucks.
New for this #ActuallyAutistic adult, I had such a strong meltdown this morning that I crashed, and it continued into my dream.
Has anyone else experienced that?

A screenshot of the part of the accessibility settings with the option of “Require alt text before posting” selected
Reminder: including alt-text on your images is helpful in many ways! It increases accessibility, can add context/detail, makes search more effective, & can improve your reach (a lot of us won’t re-share images without alt-text). If you set it as required in accessibility settings, you can’t forget!
In case it wasn’t clear:
If your designs aren’t accessible they aren’t going to work.
Your average user does not exist.
This is an incorrect bias is built on an ableism.
People have disabilities.
You need accessibility or your designs will not work at scale.
Full stop.
Dear Christian,
If you’re demanding that the Ten Commandments be put up in public schools, but you’re not holding this president or his administration accountable to a single one of them, please don’t act like you actually take them seriously.

The difference between closed captions and open captions: Closed captions are on a separate track that can be turned on or off. Open captions are captions that are burned into the video, so that they are always showing. The viewer cannot turn them off.

How did the Wii’s Mii Channel music become the like existential crisis theme of the internet? It’s so weird. I kinda like it. But still.

Again, the first Tea Party rallies in April 2009 -- heavily promoted in advance by Fox News -- only had about 300,000 attendees across 750 cities, but the media treated it like the Second American Revolution.
There will be multiple *individual* No Kings rallies today that have more people at them.
Ok. The weirdest thing that’s come out ot the whole Timothée Chalamet ballet-opera discourse is how many people seem to think Phantom of the Opera is an opera.
Or maybe I’m just being pedantic. What do you think?

#PS5 Pro for $900!? That’s over twice the launch price of the PS4 Pro. Game consoles are supposed to get less expensive over time, not more.
Yes, I get the factors used to rationalize the increases. These hikes just illustrate how unsustainable this is getting.
