Go to college bookstore, see which courses have a really neat selection of books. THEN go to the Registrar's office where you hand in one of those three-layer carbonless forms with course titles and codes filled in from the catalog.

Academia does itself a disservice by undervaluing translators and their potential readers. I think this is slowly changing, for reasons both good and bad.
Yes, it is. IMO, this is because many European languages are closer to English and it's more reasonable to expect to read and teach in the target language.
"Chinese" (e.g.) has almost zero cognates, and is actually multiple spoken and written languages.
