The White House has now ordered a ban on all immigration from 75 countries.

Our Congress, which created our immigration system, wills itself into nonexistence as that system is shattered by those with the duty to administer it.

"I can’t explain it, but it’s the weirdest, creepiest number I’ve seen in a long time. You rarely see things like this in immigration data, but it could not be more predictable right now: one immigrant dies in custody every six days."

The US government collected over $1 billion in immigration fees then refused to process the applications. No denials. No refunds. Just silence. This is the largest fee fraud in the history of the American immigration system. Here's what's happening. 🧵

When I first saw the only public document justifying the US Administration's $100,000 tax on H-1B visas, I couldn't believe it.

The analysis was full of mistakes. Big ones. Basic ones.

So I got the same data and reanalyzed it correctly. This is the result.

Drone strikes in Haiti.
Drone strikes. In Haiti.
By private contractors.
They’re killing Haitians for private profit & the world barely pays attention.
The story of Haiti is the story America likes to tell about itself. Except there, it’s true. And the west has never stopped punishing Haiti for it

This is nonetheless more favorable terrain for Trump than for the American system. As New York Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan once wrote (here in The Post), “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.”

Trump has for years stoked the idea that actually, having your own facts is fine. And even as his base chooses facts that he finds inconvenient in the moment, he’s still pushing toward the next phase: Everyone is entitled to the facts that Trump presents.

What institutions of power will be left to disagree?
