Gas is harming our health and our planet.
Polluters must be held accountable. They should pay for the damage they're causing and help fund the transition to renewables.
As DEA, guided by our mission of "healthy planet, healthy people," we have a responsibility to call for Australia to break this dependence on global oil and choose a healthier future powered by renewables.

David, we thank you for your extraordinary contribution.
Your legacy will continue to guide, to strengthen and to inspire us.
David's foresight and tenacity established the foundation for DEA to be the strong, credible medical voice it is today. David was a formidable intellect and an indefatigable advocate.
All of us at DEA stand on his shoulders, and we owe him an enormous debt of gratitude.
David was a man of immense vision & drive, who devoted his life to protecting human & environmental health. Along with the late Emeritus Prof Tony McMichael, he co-founded DEA in 2001, at a time when the need to protect planetary health & its inextricable link to human health were barely recognised.
It is with great sadness that we inform you that our co-founder, Emeritus Professor David Shearman AM, passed away over the weekend.
On behalf of the DEA community, we extend our deepest condolences to David's family, friends, colleagues, and all those who were inspired by him.

Most of the medicinal potential of nature has yet to be discovered, and at least one important undiscovered drug is lost every two years due to biodiversity loss.
Protecting and conserving wildlife is essential for safeguarding human health for current and future generations. 💚
The use of medicinal and aromatic plants as medicine is the oldest form of healthcare known to humanity. Today, an estimated 60,000 plant species are used globally for medicinal and related purposes.
Happy World Wildlife Day! 🌱
This year's theme, 'Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods', reminds us that human health is intrinsically linked with the health of our natural world.
