Many are retiring. You'd think with "nothing to lose", politically, they'd show some spine, but even the soon-to-retire are scared shitless of the potential of armed, unhinged MAGA voters.

You expect that from a party whose top representatives are Schumer, Jeffries and Booker? A party that hates their rising stars because they're progressive? Those Dems?

Pope needs to "advise" Vance to stay out of his churches and away from his employees.

It'll be interesting to see if they even bother releasing the inflation-report for the period containing the Iran fiasco.

When I become ruler of the world, any CEO who institutes a mass layoff will see his compensation reduced by the aggregated salary and benefits value of 6laid off workers.

My tax preparer today (US) tried to get me to agree with her that I should be glad I don't live in Denmark where I would have to pay taxes so that other people's kids could get educated. I gave no response. This surprised her. I didn't know where to begin.

It’s honestly hilarious that this guy thinks he’ll ever be president. He’s like if Mitt Romney and Ron DeSantis had a wildly unlikable baby who was raised by Sean Hannity and a gallon of white paint.

He's probably never going to get to be the antipope, but lord knows he's already the antirizz.

While true, that wouldn't be treason under US law (presumably, it could be under Iranian law).

And then put to death, for treason, anyone that was part of the grift. I don't have much hope that Trump doesn't leave the Whitehouse toes-up, but his heirs and associates should face the full wrath.

I didn't really follow Vance before he entered Trump's orbit: did he catch being allergic to the truth (or having "now" being consistent with "5 minutes ago") that from Trump, or was he always that way and it's what made him a good fit for Trump's administration?

My personal overall operating model is "try to use the laws (etc.) that exist before moving to other paths or, worse, giving up" — even if I'm 99% certain that such a path is going to fail. Need to exhaust existing pathways before moving on (especially where "moving on" is "give up")

Sorry to be "that guy", but…

Oof... Either her lip-filler is slipping, the injection-holes are too fresh or she needs to rush out and get a script for valacyclovir.

If the trial's not over, witnesses typically have to be re-callable. If she's not, then her attorney could present testimony — better if that testimony is a video — and "not believed" should be immaterial.

...then again, as another poster noted, "in a country with laws".

SERIOUSLY needs the Bob-stache, tho.

Going to be interesting to see what happens when the Houthis re-join the party and IDF attacks them. One wonders what kind of munitions-stockpiles IRGC has to express displeasure at such attacks (especially across multiple fronts).

Probably a silly question (it wasn't clear whether the trial was fully concluded): c/wouldn't the judge in the case issue a contempt order against ICE for witness-tampering (or "someone" else pursue relevant criminal charges around tampering)?

So… This tells Trump that, if he fires his Israeli handler, Lutnick, then Lutnick won't need to appear and can't be compelled to embarrass Trump? Such a good idea to make "fire to cover up evidence" a demonstrably-good decision-path.

If anyone ever uttered the word "gauche" near Trump, he either didn't hear it or didn't understand it and waved it off.

While Bannon's "flood the zone with shit" is a strategy, I feel like Trump's innate scatterbrainedness is what caused him to stumble on it.

One sorta wonders how "fundamentalists" could get their fundamentals **so** wrong, though?

"Stable genius"

While I'm sure that many — if most prior Presidents — had similarly unhinged thoughts to Trump, they either didn't have the means or the addled mind-set to publicly air them. Feels like the only reason Trump was _less_ unhinged on Twitter was character-limits.
