I’m upset because as a waffle expert, I wasn’t consulted

I totally agree, although want to mention that plug and fuel doesn’t really require an app. That’s only a requirement they want you to think exists to be able to link your card to the car

Sorry to hear that :( my cat had one recur twice when she was younger and it hurts to see it keep coming back. Keeping my fingers crossed your cat heals soon

I don’t notice much range loss at all when using it so I don’t see much downside to making sure it runs at least every once in a while, your avg car owner doesn’t look up what holding each button does. Anyways that’s a enough ranting about auto hold lol

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

For me it entirely depends on when it rains and how fast they dry (used it twice.) Not sure there’s a great way to know that automatically, but if it ran at a minimum every 10k miles (skipping it if the user triggers it manually) that wouldn’t be too bad. Or at least give it its own button

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Dang. It feels like the easiest thing for them to automatically do every x miles

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Does the 9 do it automatically? On the 6 I had to find the secret button (auto hold) that you have to hold down 10s to enable it, I like to read manuals but core functionality should have obvious UX!

I won’t take the jammy egg slander, but yeah fried can be so good

Oof, those are the shells I’m too scared to retrobrite. When they get that color they’re already sooo brittle

Yeah, for image gen especially I’m sure they’ll go the route of coding agents where the avg choice is looking up examples and following up with questions. I think what I’m trying to say is while the models are avg the harnesses around them don’t have to be

3 weeks ago 2 0 1 0

in the context of people asking llms for life advice only returning the avg answer is definitely scary, but I don’t think inherently they can only output something avg because they were trained that way

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

I generally agree with this, but that’s only for the model’s weights. The context plays a large part too and is what makes this interesting. If you ask an image gen to make an animal it’s never seen before it’ll be boringly consistent, if you describe something abnormal now it’s no longer avg

A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live.

"This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario."

The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.

Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

Ugh I have the funnyplaying replacement mobo… it works fine… but built in pads for tactile buttons?? the only thing that’d make this better is a built in speed up mod

Pretty normal though, running stuff like this in software is hard. People thought the same about real time decoding of av1 until it was doable in hardware, which I’m sure their gpus this fall will feature

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

Tbf the plan is probably building a lot of the algorithm into the hardware, not surprising it takes a full 5090 to run something like this realtime in software

What the hell? You literally can play them in whatever order, wtf is that guy on

To clarify the math, on a car with 300mi range and charging 40mi/day that supports a 100mi/day commute!

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

One addendum to your addendum, this assumes you only charge at night. Charging all day on the weekends guarantees a full charge for most vehicles, and even if you drive more than that 40 miles/day you’d have to drive more than 300mi/5days + 40mi*5days to exhaust the tank!

Tbf those things are a lot easier to do than replicate the motion clarity. I think these monitors + those filters that already exist would be an incredible experience

Love reps2. One of my favorite mods is swapping all my consoles to dc power in, and using usb pd to barrel adapters. One tiny lil usb pd brick instead of a power strip with a dozen massive bricks ✨✨

Huh, that makes sense! I feel like it could be solved with tech, one pedal could have a small zone under the acceleration spot of the pedal to automatically coast. But very interesting

Out of curiosity, when is it less efficient? I love it on my ioniq and it’s hard to imagine having any more control over the amount of energy I need at any given moment

Now I gotta ask, where do you get ipa in bulk? It’s unbelievable that most stores don’t carry it, how does Home Depot sell every cleaning chemical known to man but not ipa

I’ve no experience reading jit logic and I thought it was very well organized, splitting the high level and the ppc crate.

super cool! loved reading through some of the code, it's very clean. excited to see updates :)
