It had a few moments.

It was a good cultural event.

Otherwise, yeah, agree.

I have never read it. I've heard good things, though.

"Dear [name]
I really enjoyed your book. It moved me and made me rethink aspects of my life.
But I don't think you're doing an optimum job of promoting it."

And so on. Yadda, yadda, click here.

My name is [name] now.

Optimum is my new favourite word.

Winter Soldier was pitch perfect. Paranoid spy thriller with the appropriate Marvel espionage folks: Cap, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Hill, and Falcon.

With Robert Redford bringing his 3 days of condor/spy game/all the president's men chops.

Great film.

Greed is part of the reason.

Creators can create new characters, but are not incentivised to because it's work for hire, all rights back to Marvel or DC.

So they reuse old characters and change them just enough to extend copyright.

We had the same problem in south London. Missed issues is what started me making comics fanfic.

Whenever I get something like that I always think, "that's not how book reading works."

I don't read event books. I just can't anymore.

I did not like the exclusion of Hulk from the final Thanos fight.
It should have been the closure of his arc from Infinity War.

A tight (90 min) movie centering Doom could have worked. Guest starring FF, Iron Man and Silver Surfer.

Lead in to the Infamous Iron Man or something.

They also post hoc titled it New Avengers.

Right?

That's a pretty good method.

Thanks! Pretty sure we will.

Apparently we have enough for two collections.

We're gathering material for one, yes.

I'm convinced they think we're stupid.

This was a success in that my agent is pleased with my selections.

We further narrowed everything (flash, shorts, novellas) down for total word count issues.

So, progress made.

It's a superhero movie, not Dostoyevsky.

I'm not going to be in the crowd of people seeing it first.

I'll wait for the hype to die down.

It is definitely bad writing

And I just blocked a motherfucker who implied I was an MCU casual.

Fuck off with that.

They're also calling us stupid, by the way.

RIGHT?

Start the film with a short segment that recontextualises Endgame.

It isn't hard, but that's not the money grabbing way.

"Pay us twice to see the old movie before paying for the new movie. We are giving you homework and making you pay for the privilege. Say, 'Thank you, Box Office Jesus for saving cinema'."

No.

I don't do homework for studio executives.

They're incompetent if a movie can't stand on its own.

They're greedy if it can, but they craft it so it can't.

Meh, I'm not going to see it again. I have the DVD. I'm good.

And I'm a pretty smart guy with great superhero chops. I'm pretty sure I can understand Doomsday without the capitalistic tie-in to make more money off Endgame. Fuck 'em.

Son: Your catchphrase is "careful!"

Me: It's not a catchphrase! You keep doing risky things and giving me a heart attack.
