I wrote Behind the Throne because I wanted science fiction with people like me in it. I wanted to imagine a world where the populations of India and China and Japan and Korea with their thriving space programs got to go into space.
Forcing their offspring into carrying on their own bigoted beliefs is a core part of "practicing their religion" for these people. Having their kids meet the normal, happy children of gay people impairs their ability to fully indoctrinate them. It's so gross, on multiple levels.
I'm assured by writer friends that one good thing you can do to support them is to buy not just new releases but explore their backlists.
