I played all through DRS being released and then banned and it was only the 4c goodstuff at the end with Czech Pile from what I remember. Before that was Shardless, Elves, Grixis Delver, Maverick, Jund to name a few.

I disagree on DRS, I have a better memory of it and feel like it has a good shot at making the format better. But ofc can't tell for sure unless it's tried.
I think you're fixating on it as an Entomb hate card. It'll shoot up to one of the best cards in the format no doubt, but it goes in fair decks. Midrange decks! We're knee deep in combo at the moment. Midrange decks will fight combo, and control then gets its natural prey back.
