A group of about ten adults stands together indoors in a large, ornate building with high ceilings, stone walls, and warm lighting. Several people are wearing red shirts, including one that reads “Proud Union Educator.” Others are dressed in business or semi-formal attire. A few individuals hold folders or papers. The group is smiling and posing closely together, suggesting a celebratory or organized event, possibly related to education or labor.
Spent the day outside my classroom to join my colleagues at SPFE to talk to legislators about pension parity, a statewide healthcare pool for educators and support staff, and advocating for no cuts to special education and mental health funding. Thanks to all the legislators who met with us today!

Minnesota Republicans recently spoke for 20 minutes on "improving school safety" and not once did they mention guns, school shootings, or gun violence.
We haven't forgotten about the 200+ Minnesota children who have been killed by gun violence since 2021.

If you are a liberal who is sick of the Democratic Socialists co-opting the DFL, join the team:
Text from The Humphrey Project twitter.
We're DFL volunteers fighting for the party Humphrey built: pragmatic, progressive, and built to govern. The DSA runs candidates on our ticket with a very different platform. We think voters should see it.
The Humphrey Project written on a navy blue background.
The DFL has always included a coalition of ideologies aimed at supporting working class people and encouraging them to get involved in grassroots organizing and governance.
I'm disappointed that in this political moment, some are seeking to divide rather than unify.

A dark teal graphic with centered white text that reads "Nearly 40,000 people participated in DFL caucus night this year. They came with a wide range of viewpoints and opinions but chose to make a statement by engaging in our party. Since then,
I’ve traveled across Minnesota and seen the energy in our organizing unit conventions firsthand. It’s real, and much of it is being shaped by the frustration coming out of Operation Metro Surge. DFLers are tired of the cruelty and the constant overreach of this administration.
That’s what makes gimmicks like this so extremely disappointing and exhausting. This is the kind of stuff that makes people wary of engaging in any kind of partisan political activity.
At a time of creeping fascism, we should be looking for ways to continue to expand our coalition, not shrink it.
There will always be people in this party whose views, tactics, and even personalities don’t align with yours. And that’s okay.
But if the whole history of our party has actually taught us anything, from 1968 to 2024, it’s that we win when we do everything in our power to bring voices to the table and lose when we decide to shut voices out.
Anything less misses the moment we’re in. We can and should do better — the question is: will we?"
I posted this message elsewhere, but I think it’s important, as a party leader, to clearly call out what thehumphreyproject.com is: a divisive gimmick designed to split our party heading into our state convention. We have so many new people excited to enagnge in our party — we have to do better.

A man wearing a baseball cap and delegate badge sits on gym bleachers, smiling down at a toddler standing in front of him with arms raised. Next to him, a woman in a green blazer sits and writes in a notebook. In the background, another person sits higher up on the bleachers looking at a phone. The scene takes place on a gym floor with green lines visible.
Today we re-endorsed the amazing Erin Murphy today at our Senate District 64 Convention who took the time to read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? after Lucy dragged it over to her.
Incredibly cute moment with our amazing Senator!

Had the privilege of serving as Convention Chair for Senate District 63 today. Thank you to SD63 for letting me guide you throughout this process! We got a lot done in about 6ish hours!

The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.

Thanks for sending that email to us — as we’re in the swing of convention season, it was perfect timing.
Also, I will certainly be using it for an upcoming convention that I’m chairing!

Screenshot of a social media post from Alpha News (@AlphaNews) on X (Twitter). The post headline reads: “Socialists have ‘ruined’ the party, says lifelong Minnesota Democrat who ‘wants to sue’ the DFL.” The text describes Marjorie Simon, identified as a lifelong Democrat, criticizing the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and “creeping communism” in the Democratic Party, and referencing her appearance on a podcast with Liz Collin. Below the text is an embedded image showing the Democratic Socialists of America website with a red banner that says “Send a socialist to office with a donation today!” and photos of several people.
Didn’t she work for someone who is banned for life by the state party for inciting violence?
I’m really not interested in hearing her opinion tbh, and any DFLer who reaches out to Alpha News to (nonsescially) attack our party isn't a credible voice (or a real DFLer).

Just a helpful reminder to everyone: Wednesday is April 1st. If you see a news story or something that looks like a news story that makes you think "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??!??" ...the answer is probably yes, yes they are, that's it exactly.

A person stands at a podium on a stage speaking into a microphone during a political convention. Behind them, a large group of supporters—diverse in age and background—stand holding matching campaign signs that read “Quentin Ocama.” A projected screen above the stage reads “Election of State Party Officers” and “Candidate for Outreach Officer Quentin Wathum-Ocama.” Audience members are seated in the foreground, some watching and one holding up a phone to take a photo.
One year ago today, I became @dfl.org Outreach Officer. Together with many incredible volunteers and leaders across the state, we built new resources, expanded training opportunities, and strengthened our statewide structure to support outreach and inclusion in every unit (1/9)

Today, March 29, is one year since I was elected to lead the MN DFL. During my campaign I made two clear commitments:
1. Hire organizers earlier than ever ✅
2. Launch a new training program for activists, party leaders, and candidates ✅

Lots of people seem to have shown up to convention just angry about how things are, without awareness that this WHOLE THING is volunteer driven.
Do what I did: if you’re upset with the process, get involved. If you have thoughts, people need to hear your perspective before everything is in place.

Wide view from a stage looking out over a large auditorium filled with several hundred people seated in rows. Many attendees are raising their hands, suggesting a vote or show of support. The room has a balcony level lined with clothing racks and items, and bright overhead lighting. The audience is diverse in age and appearance, with some people wearing name badges. A central aisle divides the seating, and a microphone stand is visible near the front.
Had the privilege of being a convention parliamentarian at SD60 - what a fantastic experience with so many first-time delegates! Long day but worth it to see all this energy in Minneapolis.
