Keyboard shortcuts to change text color without lifting my fingers from the keyboard. Red for placeholder text, green for things I need to fact-check, blue for wording that sucks, black for final-ish text. Somehow color-coding a first draft makes it easier for me to let a sentence be bad & move on.

For a minute I misinterpreted this as about the moving walkways, rather than the boxes that take you to concourse D or whatever it is, and felt very bad for the poor a cappella group that isn't allowed to sing anything but "greep greep, moms and dads / greep greep, college grads"

Well, that's a relief; I thought it was Knight-Commander Meredith.

Save NASA Science Action Hub Updates and actions on the proposed cuts to NASA science in FY 2027.

If you’ve been moved & inspired by Artemis, NASA needs your help. Literally during A2, the president proposed cutting NASA science 47%, canceling 54 missions, including many already in-flight. To help stop these cuts, check out @planetarysociety.bsky.social www.planetary.org/save-nasa-sc...

A bit of a different take on the amazing Artemis II launch footage.

Here I stitched clips from the four Solar Array Wing Cameras to make this panoramic video.

This is during the later part of the Core Stage burn until MECO and stage separation, sped up to 10x. 🔭🧪 #Artemis

Tsiolkovskiy, Ina, and a Copernicus/Tycho tie (still haven't managed to work my way into a lunar science project, so no deep cuts for me). My favorite defense cake I made in grad school was Tsiolkovskiy for Leah.

My favorite moon-related things are mostly probably too personal for the internet, but my silly favorite this week is that my parents live in a state that has Krispy Kreme and I don't, so they made a special trip to go get the Artemis II donuts and froze one to give me when I'm in town next month. 💙

Took today off to prep for a con I'm going to w/friends who are visiting. Big thing I have left to do is debug the Arduino controller software, which is not a great vacation from debugging my GCM setup, but my warmup task was getting the BD unit's head LEDs working and I am _so_ thrilled with them.

From NASA

Now give that a quick stir 🥣

Landsat 8 caught a swirl of sediment – known as "glacial flour" – flowing in a branch of the Nansen Sound fjord system. Glacial flour is rock that has been pulverized by a glacier. It's a critical source of nutrient for phytoplankton webs.go.nasa.gov/47fZBlD

Thanks, Ray! Please drop me a line if you find yourself visiting Brown, or Providence in general--would love to catch up some time.

Can't say I'm exactly where I'd hoped I'd be 10y later—this is also my ~2y anniversary of underemployment due to the "2-body problem" + the US funding situation teaming up to kick my ass—but I am living my then-dream of being both a 67J and an active planetary scientist, and I'm very lucky for that.

Oh hey, going through old voicemails just reminded me that I missed my ten-year defense anniversary the week before last! Using this as an excuse to show off the beautiful Dorsa Argentea Formation cake Lauren Jozwiak made for me at the time.

A medium-sized brindle dog with black ears and muzzle (Cú Chulainn, or maybe Garth) is disappointed in me.

Cú Chulainn gets called everything from Coca-Cola to Choo-Choo Train by his friends and caretakers, but we got a new one from the vet's office today: Garth. Mail merge error, I assume, but considering we already occasionally call him Andraste's Mabari (iykyk) I'm adding Garth to the nickname list.

Getting the last two things wired up on my droid building project! After almost no time to work on it since last May I’ve had a few free days this month to make progress on the electronics, and I think he’ll finally be ready to wear to the convention I’m going to later this month.

For whatever it's worth, I have an affiliation but had the same problem. Sat here for a bit to see if a link came through but think it's time to re-plan my afternoon. >:|

Have you noticed an uptick lately? I'd hardly gotten any dem fundraising texts for months, then in the last month or two I've been getting 5+ a day, some with very clueless (even considering the purported source), AI-ish text that makes me wonder if a scammer got a hold of donor lists or something.

It sounds exactly like something I would love, but so did the three different passion fruit Ultras, so I’ll try not to get my hopes up. Still missing Ultra Citron, which was my favorite by far.

Whoa I haven’t seen this one yet! Is it a standard red fruit punch flavor, like Pacific Punch but sugar free?
