Losing a pet that you love is incredibly painful. They aren’t just animals they are family, they become so intertwined with your life. Their absence is crushing.

I wrote a piece to process and honor Sammie’s life. If you are a dog owner you may enjoy it.

Goodbye Samurai Warrior Princess 💔

You were the sweetest girl. You loved us so well. 16 years with you wasn’t enough. We didn’t deserve you.

Cuddle and feast with Chainsaw in heaven.

I can’t believe my babies are gone. I hate it.

RIP

Your corporate organization doesn’t care about you.

People at your organization may. But your organization doesn’t.

Speed Press - Chrome Web Store Hold mouse button while a Loom video is playing to temporarily increase playback speed.

My Loom Chrome Extension is live!

Long press your mouse key on a Loom video while it’s playing to increase the playback speed to 3x (customizable). Been begging for this capability so I built it myself.

Thanks AI.

This unified approach is rad! Have you found the base templates comprehensive enough as a jumping point?

Are you still encouraging branching workflows even with separate directories?

I’m a big fan of Loom videos, I watch & record a ton of them. I’ve always wanted the same functionality that YouTube has: Long-press your mouse while the video is playing to temporarily increase playback speed.

So I built a Chrome Extension you can run in dev mode.

My advice for folks in tech who want to stay in tech:

If you’re at a company who won’t let you work with and experiment with AI tools and workflows… get out. Even if it’s a pay cut, get out. How we work is changing. Find a place that will help you navigate this change.

This week in AI and Design The design world is constantly shifting which can be exciting, and cause some anxiety.

I know keeping up with our industry can be challenging. I’m going to try and compile some summary posts. Here’s my first:

I’ve been working on a CLI at work. Figma is terrible for designing a CLI and trying to work on flows and styles within a dev environment isn’t great either… so I started vibe coding a CLI design tool. It feels magical to build niche tools and utilities!

Finally getting around to reading Red Rising. My friends have been pushing it for years. I’m more of a fantasy reader and I thought this was going to feel sci fi heavy. It’s very good and I am realizing I owe my friends an apology for being stubborn.

I started vibe coding a mini design tool. A CLI workflow designer. It’s so helpful to build workflows and have a GUI to mess with CLI designs! I’m hooked.

Friction by Design - Carl Barenbrug What gets lost when everything is effortless? For years, good digital design has been framed as the removal of friction. Faster flows. Fewer steps. Instant …

Yes AI is all about speed but humans don’t think and process at the speed of computers, you still need to help them stop.

AI prototyping pitfalls for product designers As tech rapidly shifts, it only makes sense that how we show up as designers needs to change too. For years, we held on to clean, linear process...

A new post from yours truly.

✍️ AI prototyping pitfalls for product designers

I have been thinking a lot about designers hesitant to embrace AI, along with AI creating new traps for enthusiastic designers.
