Predicting multiphase flow and tracer transport for an underground chemical explosive test - Scientific Reports Scientific Reports - Predicting multiphase flow and tracer transport for an underground chemical explosive test

Co-authored a paper on simulations of gas transport in volcanic tuff from a chemical explosion πŸ§ͺπŸͺ¨βš’️. Great work by @johnportiz14.bsky.social and the rest of the multilab team. doi.org/10.1038/s415...

To follow up on this, the process was pleasant and highly expedient!
Just over one month from submission to publication.

🚨 New short article! 🚨

We determined that underground methane, if present at Jezero crater, could be collected by Perseverance drilled cores at certain times/seasons. However, sample tubes would need to be capped faster than is correctly done to preserve pore gases. #Mars

Does anyone have experience publishing in Icarus "Notes"? The format seems appropriate for what I'm thinking, but I've just never published that type of article before. #PlanetarySci #Mars #Publishing

🚨 New Year, New Article! 🚨

Gas diffusion-adsorption in zeolitic rocks behaves counter-intuitively when partially saturated. This has implications for radionuclide transport monitoring, and possibly even methane transport on Mars.

Best surprise on the 1am drive home from airport after #AGU24 was a prime viewing of the Gemini meteor shower!

My first time as a session chair at #AGU24 was a great success! Turns out a lot of people care about subsurface processes on Mars!

The morning before I was to fly out to Baltimore to begin my PhD at Hopkins, my wife pointed out the window and said "a chipmunk eating a flower!". In my hurried excitement to see it, I spilled coffee all over my laptop, killing it on the spot.

Horrid timing – I definitely feel your pain!

Could I be added as well? I studied subsurface processes on Mars for my PhD and am working on Titan and Mars topics in my postdoc. Thanks!
