"I don’t want more dead material poured into the pool of my mind, or careless hands stirring up the old muck. I don’t want to be in spaces on or offline where agitating our fetid little ponds is all we do to each other."

A Black congresswoman faces 17 years in prison for visiting an ICE facility. Jan. 6 rioters got pardons. Trump’s DOJ isn’t pursuing justice; it’s sending a message to every member of Congress who dares do oversight.
Stand with Rep. LaMonica McIver.

There's also a good essay to be written about Black-led protest being the main form of legible protest in the US for the past 75 years & how part of why so many white people feel adrift & also keep "asking where are the protests" is because Black protest is shifting since 2024. Folks are unmoored.

2 week old gray tabby kitten with white face (Ritzy) sleeps on one sibling while another sticks his white paw in Ritzy's face
*to the tune of benny & the jets* Ritzy and the foot
Hard to quote just a few words from this piece by @charoshane.bsky.social about the Lindy West discourse but not really about it. But really about white culture and uninspired writing about love & sex at this time.

Electricity prices are rising across the country — but even as they become an increasingly heavy burden for households and businesses, the reasons behind those prices have remained stubbornly opaque.

"These women might be afraid that a man will one day ask them to be polyamorous ... but I think there’s a crueler mental jockey wielding the whip. Women fear being publicly humiliated by their male partners, whatever form that humiliation takes." <3 @charoshane.bsky.social

Some thoughts about non-monogamy, the sad state of culture, our ignored, ever-growing hunger for conversations about respect, love, and decency charlotteshane.com/blog/2026/3/...
So it has begun
I think it is really important for us to understand just how big of a defeat the We Are All Charlie Kirk thing was, because I don't feel like there has been much writing about the larger meaning of it
So happy to have read this essay by @charoshane.bsky.social about Daniel Berrigan. This is how you write about a complex person.

“AI can never be AI without humans. It is not artificial intelligence. It’s African intelligence...We are training our own death. We train ChatGPT and it’s killing us slowly.”
Kenyan workers are still the underpaid labor behind AI training, moderation, and sex chatbots. Now, they're fighting back.
"Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men."
Just saying it right out loud now.

The tech industry realized in the 1990s that if you make digitization about “access” everyone will think you mean for “the public” and not for them and well here we are.

Both showers and public transit rides have 3x multipliers to Thinking Time. You'd think stationary bikes would be too because they're both moving and mindless but actually they're 0.5x at best. Long flights have 10x to Thinking Time but only if you're in the sweet spot of tired but not TOO tired
