Started in 2023, finished in 2025 - finish what matters to you!
I began this hip hop dance (inspired by @urbandancecamp) to challenge my animation skills. It didn't disappoint - dance is hard! After a long break, it's done.
Good luck finishing what matters to YOU!

Already a year ago, I animated this giant creature for the GreedFall 2 trailer.
Animating massive beasts is all about selling weight and impact—slow, deliberate movements, heavy follow-through, and earth-shaking impacts.
Loved working on this one! 💀🔥

MY GAME STUDIO IS HIRING! We secured additional funding for our multiplayer PC strategy game and have openings for Lead Character Artist, Senior Animator, Senior Tools Engineer, and Senior AI Engineer (not ML/GenAI). Please retweet, ping friends, & tell all!!
So naturally, it became THE thing to try and do to your opponent during a playtest. This made the Anim teams code name for this attack even more appropriate…
“Back Stabbing Bi*ch!”
😅
To test the early combat, as AI characters were still being developed, we spawned two players into a dojo, so workmates could battle it out. This sync attack was the most “fancy” move you could do at the time.
Going through some old playblasts and found my very first sync attack, from Heavenly Sword. Animated around 2004!
Thanks Adam!
Ah too kind Lana! That GDC session was wild. I still can’t quite believe what we all pulled off!
Thanks Craig!
Thanks glad you like it :)
Camera motion is something I like to figure out in previs yes!
Typically I aim for something that’s visually and emotionally in sync with the scene energy, much like a good soundtrack, it can really enhance the story.
Time for a takedown breakdown!
Here's a short behind the scenes of how I go about creating a scene like this. Complex animation can be overwhelming! I love using simple previs assets as I figure things out.

This reminds me of a pixelation/stop motion video that I made with my Dad when I must have been around 15. Racing around the garden on a chair against my radio controlled car, it eventually skids, crashing off camera and my Dad chucked dirt in shot to add to the effect 😅 Love this alternate reality.
I had the honor or being invited to talk about animation at GDC24.
I’d never been! The talks are ok, but I took a design workshop - was pretty neat! Learnt how to make a card game prototype. Met up with ex-students/workmates and loads of new folks. Granted, not paying helps but I loved it!
Yearly reminder that I have a holiday fireplace animated entirely with LEGO bricks: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi-s...
Animating a dodge? Check this out!
Not bas at all! Bravo to you and the team!
Awesome to see this again Liam!
And I thought I couldn’t have more respect for the insanely skilled work that stop-motion animators do.
Video Game Animators, where you at?
I've created a new starter pack and added a few folks to get the ball rolling.
If you're a video game animator (specifically) then drop your handle in the replies.

Hey Alex, very handy for folks like myself who just joined. Great to see so many familiar faces! Would love to be added, thank you!
