I’ve been staying at my folks in Texas since Helene. While grateful I survived and that eventually, I’ll be able to move my tiny house here and start over, it’s been hard to know what to do with myself. Last night I made dinner for my parents as a thank you. First time I felt normal in 40 days.

Happy to be connected! I’m embarking on my first memoir.

In 2024 so far, I’ve lost my uterus to a hysterectomy, my best friend/ex husband to cancer, my hometown to Hurricane Helene, and my country to an election. I’m all grieved out. But I’m feeling a book shaping up in my head. Would love to talk to some writers about where to start.

Hey you!

19 yr old girl from small town Texas with a conservative boyfriend who didn’t believe in dancing. He called the U.S. Embassy to check on me. Heard Karaoke for the first time in the “new penthouse club” in Tokyo. Naked women murals on the wall. My little eyes were opened.

Then we definitely need to talk. Polished by Japan? My only trip overseas was to Japan on my college dance team. Quite an experience.
