Hearing "99 Red Balloons" playing at the grocery store is not exactly comforting at this moment

πΈπ Thanks for the shout out! Much apurrciated
The boxes got misplaced/lost by movers. All home recorded, most compilations of electronic musicians found in the early days of MySpace and MP3 dot com. Lots of music I never found anywhere else.
Fantastic. I'm still sad about losing hundreds of minidiscs in a move over 20 years ago.
Love or hate Angine de Poitrine for their costumes and difficult music β I can't wait to see the generation of bands they inspire to get weird
Speaking of Castle Rat there's a great new KEXP studio performance video:

Bands like Angine de Poitrine and Castle Rat blow me away with creative stage costumes & presentation. I love storytelling in both music & performance. Together they transport an audience to fantastic places, like magic. I don't buy into complaints of gimmicky or artifice hindering authenticity.
Every time I see a band with great stage presence I think of a musician I knew decades ago who insisted that bands should only wear street clothes, have no frills or showiness and just let the music speak for itself. Not surprisingly his solo gigs failed to capture most people's attention.

Wicked spooky fun from the amazing @misterreusch.bsky.social π€
Very sad about the loss of Cody James Lollar aka GosT. Great guy and artist. He's one of the people who inspired me to put on a cat mask, dust off the distortion pedals and break my retirement from music. πΏπ€
I am all in on this genre

Just released my new album A Day Without a Piano
Made during one of the hardest periods of my life, when everything felt too complicated and I wished it to be simpler
Music was my way through the dark
The absence of piano means more than it might seemβ¦

I think you'll dig it in the vein of those films!

Also reminded me a lot of the crazy young adult sci-fi adventure show "Davey and Jonesie's Locker"
I'm a huge time travel movie fan and was delighted with the fun farce "Time Travel is Dangerous". Very inventive for its limited budget. It would make a good pairing with a film like "FAQs About Time Travel" or "Dave Made a Maze".
π»ππ Thanks for giving it a good home!
Thanks @hyperbubble.bsky.social for sharing this 1978 Rachel Sweet classic "Girl with a Synthesizer"
