For context US imports 59 percent of fresh fruit and 35 percent of fresh vegetables (excluding potatoes, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms) according to USDA - this has been growing since NAFTA 2008 - will new tariffs reverse this trend? Or result in poorer diets for Americans?

Very sad to hear about Alan's passing. I was privileged, as one of his many PhD students, to have been treated as an extended member of Alan's family. I will always be grateful for Alan's support that helped to shape my career, and fondly remember his humour, he kindness and wisdom.
