Been chasing that my entire life. I find relaxation in projects, so I lily pad between them. But it’s always work, so it’s never genuinely relaxation or rest.

I sent a voice message back that was mostly just me saying “thank you” over and over again in different ways.
But it’s really fucking cool to have someone discover those little bits of filigree or flourish where they hadn’t quite expected them.
Humbling, more than anything.
I would argue that there’s no better thrill as a musician than someone discovering some weird, nuanced, “no one will notice this”-thing that you bury in your work.
This week, it was the 9th or 10th person sliding me an all-caps DM that read:
