Yeah the helicopter pilot did say he had a confirmed visual I did hear that too. I know it was a training flight so maybe they were distracted a bit? Who knows. It's tragic.

I think it's the other way about from what I saw on a YT video explanation from a pilot, Juan Browne from the Blancolirio channel. He explains that the pilots of the helo didn't actually see the airplane and instead of flying behind him, flew into the path of the oncoming aircraft.
