Been away for a bit. Found out I had ovarian cancer, had a hysterectomy, started chemo yesterday, had a reaction, finishing chemo today. I’ll end up with six rounds total. In happier news, I’ve had a blast trying out different wigs!
Surgery on April 21st! We won’t know for probably a couple weeks if it’s cancer. I’m on team no cancer!!

I’m seeing a gynecologic oncologist next week. I’m scared but hopeful. If it’s cancer, and my dr thinks it is, they’re sure they caught it very early.
I have two solid masses and a cyst on my right ovary. It’s possible everything is benign, but I am still in the waiting to find out phase. Blood was drawn on Thursday to screen for an ovarian cancer protein, and I have a second MRI on Monday. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.
One of the things I always look forward to in the spring is getting a peek at my potential class roster for the next school year!! 🥳

It’s a really long story, but I didn’t become a teacher until I was 50. It was my dream job, and now it feels like the wheels are flying off. 😔
