Mouse: P.I. for Hire Review - The Wand Report Mouse: P.I. for Hire Review - A Steamboat Willie-inspired shooter with sleek animation and frenetic gunfights, but not much else.

I gave Mouse: PI for Hire a whirl, and while it's very fun and stylish, I think it's ultimately a pastiche report.wand.com/reviews/mous...

Great article. It’s especially frustrating being in games (often a white space with a white audience) and having folks attribute linguistic disconnects to not being online enough or young enough when it’s really a lack of understanding of Black slang and/or AAVE.

RPS asked me to write about DLSS5, the "neural rendering" tech that Nvidia have been crowing about, that uses generative AI techniques to replace rendered graphics. I wrote about framerates, fakery, and how you seize control of an industry.

Kara Stone is creating low-carbon games A future where games can be played without burning fossil fuels

Good profile here from @crapstacular.bsky.social on Kara Stone, after I played/wrote about Known Mysteries last year I pay attention to whatever she’s doing. Great to hear her take on the state of things given her time in the more experimental side of the space

So I was just laid off from Vicariously.

If you‘ve got an opening in PR/marketing and want to hire someone who does good work and has a family to support, I’m your guy.

Any reposts super appreciated.

I just read about this and it has gotten me so pissed off that I'll never listen to Geese again

Kind of expected this but I laughed at how the "MAX CAULFIELD WILL BE BACK" Avengers ending in Double Exposure became a big nothingburger

Pragmata Review: A Heartwarming Sci-Fi Puzzle Shooter Capcom’s subversive take on the dad game trope is clever and cleansing after years of complicated love

I liked Pragmata, or as I've taken to calling it, "A Dad Game For Dads Who Actually Like Their Kids."

Love writing profiles, especially profiles on rad indie devs like @solarserver.games - and for Mothership, too!

An image featuring three depictions of the Pilsbury Doughboy, and one of Margaret Thatcher.
They are captioned as follows:
He is risen! Happy Easter!
He is not! Happy Passover!
He is off limits until sundown! Happy Ramadan!
She will never rise again! Happy Margaret Thatcher Death Day!

Realer ones remember when they all overlapped with Margaret Thatcher's Deathiversary in 2023

this writer still has bylines at multiple gaming and culture sites, despite describing herself as an “AI artist” whose “ChatGPT has developed a personality of its own” within the last two years.

point being - this person should not be eating up already-tight freelancer budgets 🤙

Love this piece. I've always wondered the point of AI-generated placeholder art, and as it turns out it's yet another attempt to make the creative process more "efficient" when creativity is never an efficient process
