Here in North Carolina and around the country, gas prices are too high. This is a direct result of Donald Trump's war of choice in Iran, and the American people are paying the price.

Under the current administration, Black maternal health initiatives and women’s health research are under attack.
This Black Maternal Health Week, we recognize that the fight continues to ensure the health and safety of all women in this country.
Trump's recklessness is needlessly putting our brave service members in harm's way, destroying America's global standing, and making life even more unaffordable for the American people.
We must all stand against this and oppose funding this illegal war of choice.
The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.
This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.
Happy Resurrection Sunday to all those celebrating. May this Easter remind us all of the promise of renewal, the power of faith, and the enduring hope that carries us through even the most challenging moments. Wishing you and your loved ones peace, joy, and quality time together.
Donald Trump votes by mail. But this week, he signed an Executive Order so you can’t.
Why? Because he is scared of your power, and he is scared of losing the midterms.
We must be clear eyed about what is at stake with the Supreme Court right now. We cannot allow Donald Trump to hand pick one, if not two, additional justices. The nation's highest court must be stopped from becoming even more beholden to him.
A few thoughts ahead of the President’s speech tonight.
Vice President Harris meets with the Artemis II crew in December 2023: NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy: Thank you for your service and for setting the standard of excellence, alongside the teams at NASA who made this possible. You make the United States and Canada proud.

Today’s Artemis II launch marks a major step forward in space exploration.
I have had the privilege of spending time with this crew and seeing their discipline and commitment up close. As they begin this mission, I am wishing them a safe journey and a safe return home.
Long before today’s ruling, we knew social media was harming our young people. Teens, parents, advocates, even casual observers begged tech and elected leaders to take action.
While we applaud this decision, we have more work to do to protect young people online and support their mental health.
So many of us have been struggling as we watch the chaos and cruelty inflicted by this administration.
But while on the road this year, I have been thinking about and asking the question: What makes you proud to be an American?
I hope we can hold on to that as work together to rebuild as a nation.
Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want. Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice.

We love our country. And that love means we do not hand our future over to this President, his administration, and his billionaire friends.
We, the people, continue to fight for our future.

A photo of Rev. Jesse Jackson speaking during an interview in July 1983.
Reverend Jesse Jackson was one of America’s greatest patriots. He spent his life summoning all of us to fulfill the promise of America and building the coalitions to make that promise real. A son of Greenville, South Carolina, Reverend Jackson first rose to the national stage as one of the young leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. His presidential runs in 1984 and 1988 electrified millions of Americans and showed them what could be possible. From Washington, DC to the Bay Area, from the Mississippi Delta to Appalachia, from South Africa to the South Side of Chicago, Reverend Jackson gave a voice to people who were removed from power and politics. He let us know our voices mattered. He instilled in us that we were somebody. And he widened the path for generations to follow in his footsteps and lead.

Every Republican lawmaker should condemn this effort to criminalize the activity of a coequal branch of government. Today, it was Democrats being targeted by Trump — but any of them could be next.
We should all be grateful to the citizens serving on this grand jury who saw through what the Trump Justice Department tried to do and stood up for the rule of law.
The Trump administration’s attempt to indict six Democratic lawmakers was an outrageous abuse of power and perhaps its most brazen attack on freedom of speech so far.

Donald Trump continues to consolidate power and show a flagrant disregard for the rule of law. This arrest is another affront to our rights and freedoms and should alarm and enrage us.
Today, Donald Trump and his administration are once again trampling on our rights and our freedoms. Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were fulfilling their duty to the American people to report and inform, and they have been arrested for it.
The First Amendment is a foundational promise to every American: Each of us has the freedom to speak, to report, and to hold those in power accountable without fear of retribution or retaliation.
Alex and tens of thousands of Minnesotans have boldly defended their neighbors against the murderous occupation of an American city by the federal government. I am enraged and heartbroken for Alex, his family, Minneapolis, and America.
Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.
As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.
In his time and in ours, others seek to make us afraid, divided, and silent. We will not give them that satisfaction. As we honor Dr. King today, we continue the fight with determination, resilience, and joy.
Last week, it was my honor to visit the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. As I stood on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel where Dr. King spent his final moments, I thought about what Dr. King would see if he looked at America now. What would he think? What would he say?
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. loved America. He loved our country so much that he dedicated his life — and in the end, his life was taken — in a fight for our nation's highest ideal: Freedom.
