It's a new semester, a new day, a new chance to do something really cool... I'm taking it.

Beautifully written and important piece by @dcopaken.bsky.social
I was thinking the very same thing.
I'm so proud to work at a school that nurtures, protects and stands up for all of their students and faculty. My heart is full.
I'm getting Handmaids Tale vibes.
Seriously? What else are they going to cut? The football fields? Oh wait, let me guess - teachers.
Earthquake with epicenter 1 mile away, my northridge quake ptsd just kicked in. While friends suffer the city of my youth burning, it's week 2 of the worst bronchitis ever, and I found out yesterday that a close friend died. It's the apocalypse before the antichrist takes possession of the country.
I spent new year's eve entering my short stories into writing contests. It feels good.
Happy Chanukah from Sadie and Chewbacca
I am the second story. Listen for the klezmer music.
Grading is done. Let the revelry commence! (Next week, slip back to writer mode and finally finish this book I have been working on).
So true!
Love this!!
My story "festival " is here for some channuka cheer. Yay!!
I have two hours and twenty minutes to go... with only 21 more essays to read.
Looking forward to reading it!
I'm still grading final essays. There is an end in sight. Maybe.
Easily the best description of him I’ve ever read.
It's the last week of instruction in the semester. Final essays are due Sunday. Just want to publicly apologize for the mass amounts of grandparents and relatives that are conveniently croaking, as we speak. Papers are still due Sunday. I cannot bend time.
Thank you for the best quote of the day.
Looking forward to reading it, John.
I'm trying to quell my anxiety. This is not helping.
I wonder if the stock of Xanax is going to go up now? Maybe we should hoard it instead of toilet paper.
Today, for my birthday, my daughter baked me a cake, waited on me and the dogs while I graded my students' essays. Not a bad birthday at all! (Okay, I might have bought myself a few Black Friday things but, you know, it was on sale! I could not resist temptation).
As soon as I saw that dog, I knew he was going to win. He has such a great presence and personality. He knew he was all that and a bag of chips.
Damn you can't edit and autocorrect wrote ate instead of "are" a I doubt your talent comes from eating Escher.
Nick sometimes I think you ate the incarnation of Escher; but then, I think you've surpassed him. I can't wait to get your new book (I want this one signed, you never did sign my first one).
I do! Though it's still a tradition on some channel for New Year's Eve right? There are some things about pre tech days I miss, like that one.
