1 cup of blueberries (apparently frozen ones are just fine) Some sugar (cook for a few mins until blueberries release juice) Add A bit of cornstarch mixed with water to thicken. Once thick, add a splash of citrus juice mixed with a pinch of cinnamon. (I used vinegar)
Dice a green apple, mix with ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Add some sugar. Add some citrus juice or vinegar. Let marinate for at least 10 mins. Cook for a bit and add cornstarch mixed with a bit of water to thicken.
I just made blueberry hand pies (and apple) for the first time this week. Its pleasantly surprising how easy it is to make the filling and fill the ready-made frozen puff pastry. Do we have puff-pastry back home πΊπΈ? I just remember the pilsbury doughboy dough which could probably be used.
