Yeah I drive an EV here I've only used a petrol station 2 or 3 times and I don't remember, but in the US it's very much pay before the pump activates type situation.

I don't really remember because I had only use a petrol station a few times since I moved here (when I rented a car traveling) but my brain still remembers how in the US they need you to either prepay cash or swipe your credit card before the pump activates

...wait so in NZ you can just take fuel before you pay for it?
