Agencies alone can’t carry full responsibility for these regulations.
The Texas Legislature needs to pass a clear framework to protect our children.
My cannabis reform package bans marketing to children, sets clear age restrictions, and strengthens safeguards to keep our communities safe.

It is time right now for cannabis reform.
My comprehensive cannabis reform allows for adults to make choices for themselves and provides a path for expungement for those previously convicted of low-level drug crimes, all without sacrificing public safety.
Texas’s current THC laws are inconsistent, confusing, and ineffective at protecting the public, especially our kids.
If we’re serious about public safety, we need clear, enforceable standards, real accountability, and a regulatory framework people can understand and follow.
My Comprehensive Cannabis Reform Package brings safety, clarity, and access to the market. #TXLege #SD16 (4/4)
Senate Bill 31 ends low-level arrests and supports law enforcement combating high-level crime: decriminalizes small amounts, allows limited home cultivation, creates a regulated market, sets a 21+ age minimum, clears low-level convictions, and funds community oversight. (3/4)
Senate Bill 30 sets clear, enforceable rules: testing, 5 mg per serving cap, 21+ age limit, business licenses, an oversight fund, and would fund and support the existing medical marijuana program, TCUP. (2/4)
THREAD: It’s time for a smarter approach to Texas’ hemp-derived THC market.
My SB 30 (Hemp-Derived THC Regulation) and SB 31 (Legalizing Adult-Use Cannabis) would establish a framework that protects consumers, supports businesses, and respects individual health decisions. (1/4)
What Texans need isn’t a total THC ban, but clear, enforceable rules people can actually follow with proper testing, labeling, and age restrictions.
My cannabis reform package which I filed last session offers lawmakers a safer, controlled, and accountable path to regulation.
When agencies shape policy in the absence of legislative action, it raises real concerns.
It’s time we pass cannabis reforms that establish a clear framework for the safe manufacture, marketing, sale, and consumption of naturally derived THC in Texas, ensuring the safety of our communities.

Of the 270,000 voucher applicants, 75% already attend private school or are home schooled.
As I warned on the Senate floor: these vouchers would mainly benefit private school kids who can already afford to pay.
Only 12% of U.S. workers have access to child care benefits, yet companies offering them are seeing returns up to 425%. Time to close the gap.
Thank you to The Dallas Foundation for hosting!
