There was a similar thing in Lancaster - developers had to keep the facade of the building, so they just put the new windows over the old layout. End result is that it looks like two buildings went into one of the telepods from The Fly.
Now that I think about it, it was so believable that someone in my class claimed to have one (or at least, claimed his cousin had one or something).
I was taken in by this at the time! The detail makes it quite believable (for an eleven year old boy, anyway), like the way that the image is stretched after conversion.
I get the sense that this guy read about the Jaynes bicameral mind theory, and got it hopelessly mangled and ended up thinking that introspection was invented by Marx or something.
The Marx agent spontaneously publishes a series of chapbooks and pamphlets excoriating the student, while simultaneously writing and printing multiple journals so that it can send letters to each one detailing what an absolute fuckwit the student is.
Also, it’s not a literal knife-edge, unless the Greens’ doorstep approach is even more aggressive than I had imagined.
There should be some mechanism to put these AI filmmakers in touch with those people who say “I’ve got a great idea for a film - I’ll give it to you in return for 50% ownership”. Like a database / p2p exchange of non-credible creatives.

It’s proper teenage / undergraduate writing. Someone who has been praised for their talent and is really excited about what they can do with the written word, but who hasn’t had the right guidance or enough experience to understand that they need to tone it down a couple of orders of magnitude.

I agree fully on the parentage thing, but I thought “Jedi’s weapon deserves respect” was fine - Luke’s regained his self-worth and his respect for the Jedi after TLJ, thanks to Rey, so it made sense to me that he’d say that. Luke at the end of TFA is very different to Luke at the end of TLJ.
The dialogue in The Getaway was so awkward and weird that my friends and I quoted it for years, ie “I made more money off porno on the internet than you ever made in the knocking shops of Soho” or “you’re not seriously listening to this MAD TOSSER are you?”. The delivery on mad tosser cracks me up.
