Now that Los Angeles has approved Measure HLA, it's time to start adding more bike parking! (Has anyone else noticed the number of bikes increasing just since Tuesday?)

Los Angeles voters overwhelmingly approved Measure HLA yesterday. But our work is only beginning. We're going to fulfill this city's multi-modal potential so that EVERYONE has good, safe options for getting around––whether you walk, bike, ride transit, or drive. LA, let's do this.
You love to see it.
Now, can we pair this with speed camera enforcement?
A better city is possible

Speed cameras reduce the kind of traffic violence that killed Trina Newman-Townsend in South LA. These devices are widely used in Europe, where traffic deaths are a fraction of ours. The only arguments against them are paranoid, selfish, or fatuous (often all three). www.latimes.com/california/s...

Dangerous drivers who harass bicyclists come in every demographic, but almost all are mortified with embarrassment and try desperately to avoid eye contact when you catch up with them at a stop light. (Note also the fake license plate with a 2021 expiration.)
Fed up with car culture? Resist despair. Do one errand on a bike today instead of by car. Be visible as a customer of your hardware store, grocery, restaurant or bar who shows up on a bike. Ride with friends. Bikes bring joy; let others see the joy you get by riding, and they'll want to do the same.
The autobesity of the everyday cars that we must survive around on our streets just boggles the mind. This is a Honda, for god's sake
The harder the barrier, the better drivers behave. They care more about damaging their car than damaging you. Concrete and steel are great. Plastic does very little at all.
PSA: all license plate covers are illegal in California.
