Suffered a couple of pedal deaths recently, so experimenting with a different combo: JHS AT -> UAFX Enigmatic -> Source Audio Ventris. Whoa Nelly! Needs a more subtle drive pedal on top tho. Maybe squeeze a Sick As on here?

Oh no, now The Atlantic will have to verify their reporting in detail, in court, in front of everyone. 🙂🍿

Maybe I can charge an audience to watch me calibrate MY projector? Catch being I’m not Reggie Watts. So probably not.

Had occasion to stop by X. Can’t recommend it. Laughed at Reformers still talking about the “silent majority”. If they’re silent, how do they know they’re the majority? In fact, even if they shout their heads off, they still have no idea if they’re a majority. They do love a meaningless catchphrase.

I’m am all for a new 4K disc release if they can release it (and Infinity War) in the right aspect ratio this time. There is so much important action in the 1.90 frame that went missing when it was cropped to ‘scope.

No specs yet, but I guess we’ll find out eventually. I wonder if this will start a transition to 1.90:1 as the new “standard” movie aspect ratio?

Thanks Aaron. Loving your work btw 👍🙂

Imagine you’re the US President, but you need ten extra chumps to stand around in shot, in a vain attempt to gain a smidgen of credibility. Why would they agree to this? In most endeavours reputation means everything, and theirs is now in the dirt.

Hand-Built in England: Inside PMC Speaker's Luton Factory
Hand-Built in England: Inside PMC Speaker's Luton Factory YouTube video by AV NIRVANA – Home Theater and AV FORUM

Hey studio monitor / hi-fi / AV fans - we did a little tour of PMC’s UK factory where they build, test, and ship most of their speakers. Amazed to discover they’re hand-built, right down to the drivers. Fairly in-depth video: youtu.be/7EH9oCmo908?...

It suggests to me that people are more motivated about rejoining than they are about staying out. A few years ago there would have been a backlash from Mail readers angry that “their poll” was being infiltrated by Remainers. Now it looks like they’re not bothered about fighting back. As of 17 Apr:

Something tells me most of USA never sees television journalism like this.

Ooh, that’s quite a reference. I like it.

I suspect they do, but then someone advises them that it “won’t poll very well with xyz demographic”. So they end up avoiding policies and aim to win on vibes 🤦‍♂️. Maybe candidates should try not being scared of taking a position. I mean, if a guy can win by ranting about Hannibal Lecter…

That happens a lot of course. Always an education when you get to do mixes of certain classics. One day I’ll track down the Roxy Music show I got to do. That blew my mind.

I referenced the original studio recordings from wayyy back, to make sure I understood the vibe of all those hits we Brits grew up with. It’s easy to assume you can simply jump in and mix it, but when you listen critically you find the songs weren’t constructed quite the way you imagined.

Nice to see this Madness gig pop up on TV again - did all the sound for it 10 years ago this year. Sky Arts getting their money’s-worth out of it 🙂. Really happy with the mix (tho obviously you can’t tell from my phone video!). If you look closely, you can spot me at monitors in this clip…

It’s a malamute. I mean, if you can’t see the ears, how do you know? Malamutes are the best too.

80% now. Instead of levelling out, it’s accelerating towards rejoin. TBF the numbers prob reflect who is aware of the poll more than anything, but I think it’s a sign that people are far more *motivated* to rejoin the EU than they are to stay out.

“Hey dude, talk to the AI, ’cause the boss ain’t listenin’ ”

How are you supposed to get rid of staff unless you have a manager to engineer a situation so it looks like your employee’s performance is below par?

6 days ago 0 0 1 0

Maybe that’s a difference in perception between UK and US businesses: In the UK you’d be a medical emergency. In the US you’re more like a legal liability.

Replace the managers, save 20% of your payroll costs. Or, KEEP the managers but replace most of the rest of the staff, save 80% of your payroll costs. Hmm 🤔

Maybe Dorsey is trying to reassure us all: “No no, your menial low/paid job is safe, it’s just all the MANAGERS we want to replace with AI.” Yeah right.

Why not just use AI bots to do everything and have no human employees at all? No need for office space, parking, lunch breaks, no sick pay or holiday pay 👍. Then they can use their enormous profits to pay me to hang out at the beach all day.

Why not build a McDonalds on the White House lawn, opposite the ballroom? It would balance it out nicely.

Oh look, not only my Door Dash, but there’s a camera out here too. I suppose I should say something completely unplanned and unrehearsed.
