Notable is Dertour's focus, from the outset, on 'shared benefits', including future 'economies of scale in the tour operator business'. These include basing Hotelplan and its brands 'on a joint technological platform'. Dertour points to its integration of Kuoni as evidence of its track record.
Should it all go through, it will leave Dertour with an enviable UK portfolio, featuring Kuoni and its 30 retail outlets, Carrier, CV Villas, Journey Latin America, Jules Verne, Kirker Holidays and recent acquisition Solmar Villas. Dertour has also committed to retaining all these brands.
Kuoni parent Dertour Group has acquired Hotelplan Group, including its four UK trade-facing brands – Inghams, Explore Worldwide, Santa's Lapland and Inntravel. No terms have been disclosed, and the deal will yet be subject to regulatory approval www.ttgmedia.com/news/breakin...

Bonkers how Aston Villa's last transfer window was deemed a success mainly because we hung on to Jhon Duran, whereas this one will mainly be deemed a success by hanging on to Ollie Watkins and selling Duran 🤷♂️ www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba... #avfc

Heathrow gets its green light – but let's be clear, this is just the start of another absolutely monster phase of back and forth that will take years, maybe decades, and will cost billions upon billions before a spade gets anywhere near the ground www.ttgmedia.com/news/breakin...
Quite aside from the fact this highlights some terrific progress that needs to be replicated at scale, and its accessibility by rail, Austria's SkiWelt is where I learned to ski and is simply one of my very favourite places in the world. This was a joy to read www.theguardian.com/travel/2025/...
I travelled there with a bunch of school groups as a reporter not long into my first journalism job - it remains one of the most powerful and eye-opening days of my entire life.

I note the orange one has risen again 🍊. Biden was never really cut out to find all those horcruxes, was he?

This will obviously be an unmitigated disaster that will cause untold harm to people's lives and democracy, but at the same time, if it accelerates the demise of 'big social media', then 🤷♂️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Team effort this one – hard to condense a full (and yet only three-day-old) year down to 1,000 words, but here we go www.ttgmedia.com/news/what-do...
