Junction with a car turning into a side road across a cycle track and footpath. Car is turning correctly at 90 degrees to the junction. Tracks are evident where other drivers misjudged their angles and drove over kerbs
New cycle lanes in Galway. Much of the hype has died down now that people see the road is wide, the design good. But the tightened junctions are still a point of conflict. I don’t know whether to fault the maths teachers (π/2 🤷♂️) or driving instructors.
But it’s good to SLOW DOWN at junctions.
Enjoying the thrill and freedom of cycling at an early age is a learning experience from which a child will greatly benefit.

The three most common doubts I hear about whether biking can scale in Seattle are:
1) Is it too hilly?
2) Is it too rainy?
3) Are things too far away?
Let's assume those are good faith questions and look at each one in turn. 🧵

now that i don’t have access to an e-bike anymore ive been using my Cortina U4 (a dutch 🇳🇱 omafiets aka mamachari in 🇯🇵) went down to the lake today bc i was enjoying the weather / fit, made some modifications for handling! she will get me through until eventually i can find a new cheap e-bike.
