My Ides of March fun fact is that the place where Caesar was stabbed is now a cat sanctuary, and I think it’s beautiful that creatures with tiny knives on their feet live there

Just because good news is worth celebrating:

There is now a Prep medication that is an *every six month* injection.

HIV has, effectively, a vaccination.

i had imposter syndrome trying to talk about fascism alongside Alberto Toscano, but i'm glad i did coz it was an incredibly generative conversation that helped distill & crystallize my own thoughts about fascism worldwide today & it's differentiations from the past.

From the Toronto Star- not only do the Toronto Police not FIRE police who use the database to stalk women who won’t date them and violate the privacy of their exes and others, the only consequence is that they are docked pay. Cut their funds and divert the $ to women’s shelters.

Sooo interesting on many fronts. Neuroimmune communication increases inflammation and lesion size, plus a potentially massive impact of the new migraine drugs #cgrpinhibitors #gepants #endometriosis

I’m curious what part of my triptan-resistant migraines are pressure-related and what part of these are something else related to immune /stress — also the unholy trifecta of hormone/mast cell/inflammation. Is there a collective of migraineurs researching this? And what comorbidities do we all have?

I’m interested because of my pain and also what this means in terms of folxs’ understanding of pain

I’d like to see more about young progressive women and men, including non-straight and non-white, maybe a few of the hundreds who do community work in economically hard times, and why they aren’t towering with resentment about themselves. And leave out former political staffers, please.

How Klee’s ‘angel of history’ took flight Klee’s famous angel appears tossed by the rough winds of history – and the drawing itself has been blown about the world by tragic events. Jason Farago tells the story of an icon.

"The angel would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what has been smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise... The storm propels him into the future to which his back is turned, while the pile of debris before him grows skyward. This storm is what we call progress."
- Walter Benjamin
