No wonder cops fight so hard to keep their records hidden from the public.

(If I got angry at myself for being angry I would be angry constantly and I wouldn’t have time to think about anything else.) (Wait, I think I am angry constantly. That might explain a lot.)
The wizard sings a song to the little cat.

A very pudgy brown tabby cat sits on a kitchen chair next to the photographer. She has been caught mid-yell. It is very difficult to photograph her when she is not mid-yell.
Truth Coming Out Of Her Bedroom To Shame Mankind
Don’t forget to take care of yourself.
Don’t forget to rest.
Don’t forget to read banned books.
Don’t forget to dream.
Don’t forget to become a terrifying legend that timid townsfolk whisper about in the dark.
Photo of Iris the cat lying on her back on the carpet, trying to look endearing.
I was just enjoying some pistachio ice cream with the doomscrolling, when I heard a slurping noise and realized Iris the cat was enjoying it too. The ice cream, she doesn't care about the doom.
Tuxedo cat lying between my legs. To conform to the space, his body is in a sort of triangle position, and his tail is sticking out
You're probably familiar with the feline pear, loaf and shrimp positions. May I introduce the stingray?
Another horse girl here. Tetanus avoidance is so important, while still enjoying a tetanus rich (filthy?) potential environment, that reminders for when my next booster was due, has been entered into every version of a PDA/Calender/Digital Brain since 1993.
My great grandma told me about surviving tetanus when she was a young teen. She spent two weeks being alone in total darkness because any light, touch or sound was painful and caused spasms.
Fuck anyone who forces children to go through what my great grandma did.
screencap of a tweet with a photo at the bottom of JD Vance giving a talk, gesturing smugly with his hands Eric Daugherty • @EricLDaugh • 1h • JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO: "When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword - there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory." "In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology." "And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been - if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."
I’ve given this a great deal of thought, trying to come up with the perfect joke for this moment, and this is what I have so far -
POPE LEO: our religion teaches that this war is bad
VANCE: wow, who died and made YOU head of the Catholic Church??
POPE LEO: well, you should know, you were there
And for the record, when we say that requests are "winding down," the thing we mean right now is "we are only sending around 25,000 whistles per week."
There are many reasons I believe in the separation of Church and State and "you can't disagree with the head of state, that's against theology" is probably the most prominent "absolutely not" scenario.
a lot of the quote posts of this are in the "don't get your hopes up/don't be delusional" genre which, I think, miss the point.
the GOP is gonna be losing a lot more sleep at night if it's starting to look like they might have to fight to keep Mississippi.
we don't have to win there to fuck 'em up
BREAKING: The so called 'SAVE' Act has FAILED in the Senate and will not become law.
I wrote this piece on how in reality, this is the Voter Restriction Act to prevent women from voting. It is fascism and would have installed Trump as a permanent dictator. www.qasimrashid.com/p/the-save-a...
The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.
It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.
A tiny scared tabby kitten tucked into a fluffy cat bed with a grey blanket. Her eyeballs are huge and she looks very unimpressed with everything.
Jasper's sister is here! 570g, a tiny dandelion fluff of a kitten.
She had a tick the size of a black bean under her chin, poor little poppet! A bit anaemic, but in good shape overall.
Names welcome!
Fluffy gray tabby on a window seat, lying sleepily on his side and resting his lone rear foot delicately upon the seat’s wire support.
anyway good night
Amena is on the survey because her education requires an internship in almost getting killed, I guess.
A dragon perches at the top of a pyramid shaped building in this digital painting of a modern city at night. The colors are gray and gold. The dragon is black lit with warm light. People gather on a rooftop to watch it
"Modern Dragons" launches tomorrow 🐉
A gray and white kitten stalks the wild traytable (out of frame)
This is a cat who absolutely thinks everything she cannot do is an insult to her personally
This is why @naomikritzer.bsky.social's The Year Without Sunshine is one of my favorite disaster stories: www.uncannymagazine.com/article/the-...
I think that what groups that have experienced, essentially, apocalypses (indigenous North Americans and enslaved people in North America, for example) show is that *community* is what keeps people alive and vital even in the face of apocalypse.
I'm first floor, east facing, huge tree shading the frontage, entire building buffers me. It's like living in a walk out basement. The AC doesn't kick on until it's like 93 out. Turning off a lava lamp saved me the 2% usage during a high heat day last summer. The numbers never make sense.
Two very loose, faceless, blurry watercolor and ink figures seated on the ground, knees up, arms around their knees. They are ultramarine blue with some patches of pink.
Blurry feelings.
My upstairs neighbors have needed AC going since late March, one unit is solo, the other a family of 4. But my electricity usage is supposed more than 2x the Efficient 'similar units' that can be 30% larger or smaller.
I don't know how Xcel crunches their numbers beyond fantasies & falsehoods.
Every disorder that was previously called some version of psychosomatic has been proven wrong, from shingles, MS, and asthma, through Crohns, IBS, and finally, now, ME/CFS.
That history should make designating anything psychosomatic/FND a damning indictment of the diagnostician.
We need a matriarchy run by lesbians with clipboards and earpieces who do not take any shit.
it’s a great day for transphobes to eat shit
Remember the unvaccinated boy who contracted tetanus in 2017, hospitalized for months at a cost of almost $1M? The boy who was a patient of (former) antivax doctor Paul Thomas?
He's not the only recent case. 4 kids, unvax'd, none received immunoglobulin when symptoms developed. Those poor kids.
