thought this morning how excited i was about the four-day weekend coming up in which i would do absolutely nothing, and boy, i haven't jinxed myself like that in a LONG time 💀

i will never, ever understand people who say they want to be writers and use AI to do it because. because! the work is the reward! the work is the joy! and yeah, sometimes it's painful drudgery but that's how you get to the good stuff. that's how you learn to make the good stuff.

i just really love writing, you guys! i just! when you get to a line and realise you've been setting up a thematic resonance you didn't expect, or when you start an outline and then it ends up somewhere different, or when you're in the flow and the rhythm and the words are right! i love it!

i prefer to promote good books when i review for the @lesbrary.bsky.social, rather than talk about books i didn't like, but i just finished one that really did not stick the landing and i'm not sure i have time to read another one in hopes it will be better :/
