Last Sunday’s Spring singing walk in Friston Forest was a beauty ✨

Tonight at The The Vinyl Frontier in Eastbourne is Attila The Stockbroker. Tickets all gone but there should be a little space. We’re very lucky to have him. Come along. Donations to We Shall Overcome.

Nightjar making a comeback ✨

Some local lore from 1868

… also known as the fern-owl, goatsucker, the puck bird or puck; it probably received the name from a belief that it is a mischievous sprite, which inflicts on calves and heifers a disease here called the ‘puck complaint’

I went to the Lee Miller exhibition at Tate Britain this week.
In 2020 I spoke with her granddaughter, Ami Bouhassane at Farleys House for Mostly Folk.

Thought I’d share a little. This snippet is about her parents discovering Miller’s archive following her death.

I’m in Hastings on Friday as Jason McNiff’s Sundowner guest at The Jenny Lind, with David Perry joining on guitar.

Had a great night on Saturday opening for Stick in the Wheel with David Tomlins. So good to see friends there. The only photo I managed was at their soundcheck.

Pointings, seen from Devil’s Dyke, Sussex. Vintage photo

For #FolkyFriday our heroine is a wise old woman.

With a sieve and candle she mimicked the rising sun, tricking the devil into thinking night was over and interrupting efforts to flood the area.
