The laboratory of Dr. Carolyn Rasmussen at University of California, Riverside has an opening for a postdoctoral scholar (2+ year position) to investigate the underlying mechanisms of protein-protein and protein-cytoskeleton interactions that mediate plant division plane positioning. Candidates with experience in biochemistry, plant genetics and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. To learn more about the lab: https://rasmussenlab.weebly.com/
Specific job duties include:
- Conducting structural and functional analysis of division-site localized genes and proteins.
- Investigating the biochemical mechanisms behind protein-microtubule interactions and protein-protein interactions
- Using cell biology techniques to identify the roles of division site localized proteins including plant transformation and phenotypic analysis.
- Participating in other related research projects.
Required qualifications:
- PhD in biochemistry, biology, plant biology or related fields.
- Preferred experience and techniques in biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully work on multiple projects with a diverse group of people.
To apply, please send your CV by email, including names and contact information for three personal references, along with a cover letter describing your research interests in a single PDF file.
