It will have a turbo button, the motherboard has a connection.
That's for an XMS ram expansion, like this:

Sneaky peak of the absolute beast of a 386 I'm going to be building, many many thanks to uhf_satcom (x.com) for the motherboard and CPU and other bits! πππ
I've managed to get it running on 16MB of RAM, but I've ordered 16 more, can't even imagine a 386 with 32MB of RAM, but soon.... π
Typical, the only VGA connectors I have are stumpy ones! π
Honestly this VGA connector was so difficult to remove, all the pins had been crushed, I couldn't even get a razor blade under to bend them up. I'll have to repair a couple of the pads/holes but I can figure out where they're going to botch wire if I needs to.

The latest PicoGUS firmware update was a huge fail - lots of breakage everywhere. I rushed its release, and it shows. I'm really starved for time between helping the kids with homework most nights, work on getting PicoIDE to full production, and a demanding day job. I wonder what has to give.
Family first mate, always, then work, then projects. Thanks for all your hard work for the community l, you've given us stuff we could only dream of - for that we're eternally grateful. Take care buddy, don't burn out.
Looking fresher.....

I'll be attempting to repair this scrapped, dead Trident ISA video card soon, lots of damaged parts and physical damage and that's just from a visual inspection.

40FPS @ 1024x768, 32bit, High Textures for everything is a good score for this 500Mhz machine, very playable.
The Argon core uses 512 KB of external L2 cache running at reduced speed, while Thunderbird core integrates 256 KB of L2 cache on-die running at full CPU speed, making it much faster despite the smaller size.

I also discovered the 768MB or ECC RAM works in the my old board.
So happy I now have two solid working systems running the very first Athlon Slot A 500Mhz Argon Core and also the fastest 1Ghz Thunderbird Core.
Cache performance difference:
500 Argon
/
1000 Thunderbird
I've left my old board and original 500MHz CPU running the UT99 timedemo for 5 hours and it's absolutely solid.
Good news about my original Slot A Athlon motherboard, after recapping it was still unstable, but have now found that the issues are all down to 5v rail current.
This new PSU does 38A on the 5v rail. I was sceptical, but it's great quality, heavy and solid.
It's just the light and angle, it's been washed and cleaned, looks brand new as well tbh.
