I don’t know how people keep forgetting that workers rights were entirely written in blood and the capital class had to be threatened with violence before they agreed to things like 8 hour working days and 2 day weekends.

The thing these types fail to recognize time and time again is that homelessness, poverty, wage theft, etc. are themselves violence by way of politics and the economy. You don't need blood and bruises to make it so. How else do you explain the widespread pain and discontent people feel? You can't.
