Insights from Northeast Syria
This travel report shares the impressions of a solidarity delegation that visited leftist, feminist self-administration projects in a region shaped by the Kurdish women's movement amid war, destruction, and isolation. The talk explores political realities and everyday life in cities such as amishli, Ragga, and Hasakeh, as well as inspiring encounters with women leading feminist struggles.
The report offers a nuanced perspective on a region that is often romanticized or ignored, raising the question: What does feminist solidarity mean in times of global crisis, and how can it be put into practice?
PARTISAN RESISTANCE IN BARKOVLJE
About the anti-fascist resistance of the people of Barkovlje (Italy) 80 years after liberation. The presentation traces Barkovlje's resistance to Nazi fascism during World War Il. It also explores how the local Slovenian cultural association preserves this anti-fascist heritage today. Additionally, it will highlight the ongoing challenges faced by the Slovenian minority in the area, which have been shaped by decades of political assimilation and cultural marginalization.
