For a while I've been enjoying hanging out and chatting maths with @steckl.es @ayliean.bsky.social @mscroggs.co.uk at the Finite Group.

I always enjoy touchdown day on Wordle Tetris, it’s gonna be a good day :)
Oh noooo, I don’t think @wordle-tetris.bsky.social can pull it off today!
We need a word with 4 green one blank…
Having stayed up past midnight, like a badass, I have insider info that it’s just not gonna be possible with today’s Wordle answer.
We can start again tomorrow 🥲
Aww thank you, hope you enjoyed it! It’s been a thoroughly rough week of isolation but at least I’ve been keeping this covid to myself 😪
I know Stagehand Sophie will have done an amazing substitute job!

Yusss I got a snap with the wordle tetris bot!!! One point to me 😁
ACAB: Always Carry A Book! 💖✨
I did a “maths yoga” session at Big Maths Jam a few years back and haven’t stopped thinking about how that would be such a nice career ever since!
Happy 1 year since this! #worldbookday

Fun fact: it’s me that writes the Maths Gear newsletter!
It comes out on average once per month (you’ll have to sign up to find out which kind of average)
So glad you enjoyed the show!
@standupmaths.bsky.social still has plenty more tour dates upcoming if you want to see me be play the role of Stagehand Ayliean✨
It’s your only chance to catch me wearing all black!
The layers of nerdery here 😅 let me explain…!
@wordle-tetris.bsky.social is day by day showing the frames of a Tetris game played on Wordle
and does-it-glider.com is one of my fave weird internet artefacts, where you run your wordle score through Conway’s Game of Life to see if it forms a glider🤓💗
Tetris Wordle game 2 is going strong, but the real question …
DOES 👏 IT 👏 GLIDER? 👏
A Wordle screenshot showing clump, minty, react, great, plump, tacky. The yellow squares light up in the shape of a zigzag Tetris piece
This was my attempt at today’s Wordle Tetris (definitely not done at 15mins past midnight)
Ooooh day 2 of Wordle Tetris is going well!
Also, lil bonus game, you can do your wordle as normal and then attempt wordle Tetris manually - I didn’t match with any of @wordle-tetris.bsky.social words but I did manage to make the Tetris frame!
T’was a heroic effort to ROTATE THE L, but alas!
Tetris played on Wordle!
I love what’s going on over at @wordle-tetris.bsky.social
I hacked car charging to work with my electric bike!

It’s too good, I thought this was an actual cardboard collage!
Shape nerds ASSEMBLE!
(In an icosahedral symmetry formation)
That’s how maths’ll getcha! And then after a while you wonder if anyone actually uses these words, but you do now, so you become the perpetuator of this obscure maths vocab!
Oh definitely send me a link to that! I’m working my way through shapes wolfram alpha mentions as having Eulerian paths because they could be done with one balloon whereas things like a cube couldn’t
Oh that is so cool! I’m just a humble maths nerd in it for that shapes but it’s always fascinating to learn what they do in the “real world”
Thanks 🥰 do shapes like this ever come up in protein folding?
Small Rhombicosidodecahedron if u even care.
I know it can be made with a single (incredibly long) modelling balloon because every vertex only has four lines coming from it, so it has an ✨Eulerian path✨
Not sure what phase of my life I’m in, but here’s that modelling balloon icosidodecahedron nobody asked for!
In theory it could be made out of a single modelling balloon, although in reality they don’t make balloons long enough :(
Well that’s none of my bismuth

What mistake has happened in my phone to make it tell me the sun is going to go down at 12.36pm in Dundee today?!
All the other locations are showing the normal depressing time of 4.30ish!
The @ima-maths.bsky.social seems quite proud they invited BAE to speak at their conference.
I am so so disappointed that an institution which normally funds sweet creative maths projects and supports maths communities has chosen to platform BAE Systems which produces munitions used in genocide.
16 red squares in total!
